Step 1. ReviewReview possessive pronouns and the possessive case of nouns by group work. Useful sentences:Is this / Are these… Yes. It’s/They’re …/No, it’s/they’re…Whose… is this/ are these I think it’s /they’re…Listen to 3 and finish 3.Guess who is your best friend by describing the personal information to lead in new lesson.Step 2. PresentationLet students look at the picture in 2 and describe the wanted man’s appearance and clothes by themselves. For example: He has small eyes, a big nose and a wide mouth. He is in black clothes.2. Let students read 2. Guess the meaning of the new words “elp”, “find”, “us” and him according to the context. Teach and let the students master them. Pay more attention to “help sb.doh sth.”
3. Listen to 2, imitate the pronunciation and intonation, and follow it. Let students find out the difficult sentences like “ Please help us find him.” “He is tall.”. Let them master it well.4. Read 2 again. Finish 2.5. Use word cards to review the words “she” “English”, “shoes” “shirt” and so on. Lead students to sum up the pronunciation rules of /∫/. Use the same way to learn /3/,/t∫/,/d3/. Teach the four consonants.Step 3.ConsolidationListen to 1 and follow the tape. Sum up the rules.Let students remember the pronunciation of the consonants and read by themselves.Check some students’ pronunciation of the consonants. Correct them if necessary.Step 4. PracticeAsk students to sum up the grammar and useful expressions in this unit by pare their summaries with 4a and 4b. Finish 4a and 4b.Listen to 4a and 4b and follow the tape.Step 5. Project Find the right picture by asking one of the owners some questions.
