What does war mean?lead-inWar means death, because it can destroy anything, including lives and beliefs.
It’s not likely to get rid of their bad long-lasting memories on war for those people who witnessed and survived the frightening battle scenes. lead-inImagine that you are a survivor of the D-Day landings. Please describe your memories of the following events:

After a long struggle, the crew is pale and weary upon reaching their hometown on Christmas Eve. Shortly after the wounded navigator is taken ashore to a waiting ambulance, allied planes bomb and strafe (猛烈炮轰) the facilities, wounding or killing many of the crew. After the raid, the U-boat sink at the dock. Just after the boat disappears under the water, the captain collapses and dies. Sample
WritingDas Boot Although we all condemn the immoral war-maker —Nazi Germany, we are shown the courage and humanity of German soldiers in a true-to-life manner in this film. Sometimes, we are shocked and moved by such feelings as boredom, loneliness, fear, despair and destruction that these men are experiencing. It’s said that of the 40,000 U-boat men, 28,000 is killed in World War II. Surely, war is a killer machine, whatever good or bad guys.Sample
