◆教学情景导入入
Good morning, class. Yesterday, we understand the hobby of Paul, Paul showed and told about it . Let us understand very clearly. Danny would like to show us, like Paul and on his hobbies. Let’s go to see. I want to know what Danny’s hobby is.
◆教学过程设计
Step 1. Ask students to show and tell about their hobbies.
Step 2. Come to “Think About It!” Lead students to talk about their family members and history.
And then answer the first and the second questions. With the third question, listen to the tape.
Step 3. Get students to listen to the tape and get familiar with the passage by answering some question.
T: What are the students doing S: ……
T: Does Brian show their hobby S: ……
T: Does anyone else in Brian’s class take stamp collections as their hobbies S: ……
T: What’s Danny’s hobby S: ……
T: Where does Danny show his hobby S: ……
Step 4. Get students to read the passage carefully. Explain some language points to help them better understanding the passage. It’s one’s turn to do sth./ get … out of …
Step 5. Listen to the tape again. Play the tape for several times. Ask the students to read after it until they can read it correctly and fluently.
Step 6. Come to “Let’s Do It!”. Get students to finish the part using the expression they have learned and also their imagination. Imagine what his great great grandmother was like. Share your idea with a partner.
Step 7. Homework. Retell the text in a third person.

● 教学反思
无论在中国还是在加拿大,英语都是很重要的学科,但英语在中国是作为外语来教学(EFL),而在加拿大是作为母语或第二语言(ESL)。英语是加拿大的官方语言之一,所以加拿大的学生生活在一个讲英语的环境里,到处都是英语。作为新移民,不仅学习英语这门功课,而且其他所有课程都用英语教学,所以对他们来说学习英语要快得多且容易得多。而中国学生学习英语最大的障碍是没有语言环境,只是在课堂有限的时间里讲英语,课后又抛在一边,因此很可能出现英语考试成绩很好却不能开口讲英语的情况。另外,中国目前的英语教学还带有很大程度的应试性,教师多数扮演的是一种家长式的角色,往往热衷于“满堂灌”,采取“填鸭式”,搞“一言堂”,使得英语的交际性难以实现,成为又一学习英语的障碍。所以,对照国外英语课堂教学的模式,重新审视国内英语课堂教学的现状,我深深感到教师在英语教学过程中要始终体现“以学生为本”的现代教育理念,充分尊重学生的主体地位和个人情感,发挥学生在英语教学中的主动性和积极性。
