Teaching Aims:
1. Review: Are you doing your homework?
2. Master the sentence patterns: What are you doing?
Teaching important points:
New drill: What are you doing?
New words: jump、drink、niose.
Teaching difficult points:
Student should master new words jump, drink and noise.
Students Analysis:
For my Students, they can read these –ing words fast. But it’s a little difficult for them to remember those words when they want to express. Students have learnt drills What’s he/she doing? I’m …ing .It’s not very hard to learn What are you doing?

CD-ROM, fashcards, doll, masks
Teaching Procedures:
Notes:
Step 1 Lead in
Greetings.
Sing a song. I’m listening to music.
Step 2 Revision
Look and say.
(CAI) show pictures and phrases, Ss look and say the phrases.(listening to music , reading a book, playing football, writing a letter, talking to you, doing his homework, drawing a picture, dancing, watching TV, reading a .newspaper, playing basketball, singing, tidying her room, playing with his train, listening to CDs, listening to the radio,…)
Step 3 Guessing game.
T take out some word cards, ask one student to come in the front and back to others, the teacher choose one card ,then show to other students, they do the action with noise(show the word to make them sure), ask the student to guess like this : Are you …ing? The student answer like this :Yes, I am./No, I’m not.(As playing the game, teacher says What’s that noise? lowly )
Then choose another word to play this game some times.
Step 4 Presentation
1. The teacher jumps and says: Boys and girls, look! I’m jumping, now !
T hold the word card and ask : Do you like jumping? Follow me, please!

Ask some students to read one by one.
Then Ss repeat after the teacher like this: Jumping ,jumping, I’m jumping!
Ss do the action and say after the teacher.
T: What are you doing?
Ss :I’m jumping!
2. T: I’ m very hot now! I’m thirsty. I want some water now!I’m drinking!(do the action)
Then teach drink in the same way.
3. Then teach the sentence: What are you doing?
Step 5 Practice
1.T: Boys and girls, look! A girl is coming now. Let’s ask her what are you doing? together!
CAI show actions and Ss ask together!
2. Practice. A students to do actions in the front, other students ask him What are you doing? The student answer I’m … . Do some groups.
3. Passing game. Passing a doll to practice the focus drills.
Step 6 Listen and repeat
1. T: Boys and girls, you did good job! Do you know What Amy and Lingling are doing now? Let’s have a look! Ss: …
T: Yes! They are making a phone! What are they talking about? Let’s listen! After listening, you should choose Yes or No about following sentences.(CAI)
T: Let’s listen together!
2. Play the CD one time. Ss just listen. (Books closed.)
3. Choose several students to correct the answers.
4. Then Ss listen and repeat after the CD. (Books open.)
5. Read the conversation free.
Step 7. Role play
Role play the conversations.
T and Ss role paly the conversations.
Bs-Amy, Gs-Lingling
Choose several pairs to role play it.
Step 8 Task time
Make a phone to your friends.
S1: Hi/Hello, S2, I’m S1.
S2: Hi/Hello S1, What are you doing?
S1: I’m …ing … .What are you doing?
S2: I’m …ing … .
1. T choose a student to make a model.
2. Ss find a friend, make a phone to s/he.
3. Then choose 2-3 groups to play in front the class.
放映课件中的音乐,让学生和老师一起边唱英文歌曲边做动作,让学生克服紧张心理进入良好的学习状态。
利用多媒体课件,分别出示人物动作图片和单词,有效地复习了动词ing形式。
利用多媒体课件出示跳跃的动画来复习jump,eating,drink等单词,增强了学习的趣味性,吸引了学生的注意力。利用声音播放句型I’m jumping/eating/drinking使学生在看与听相结合来理解新句型。
在游戏过程中通过多媒体播放强劲的音乐,营造了紧张激烈的游戏氛围。
利用多媒体课件播放课文内容,把学生带入预设的情境中,增强课文的趣味性,也有助于学生学习纯正的英语口语,培养良好的语感。
同时,利用课件出示课文相关的判断题,并能够很快对题目进行答案的校正,提高了课堂教学效率,构建了有效的课堂教学模式。
利用多媒体课件图片和声音,让学生迅速进入打电话的情境里,继而很自然地让他们两人一组为单位导演一段打电话的小对话,并上台展示表演,强化、巩固了本课的重点句型,并使所学知识得到了延伸。在学生练习阶段播放轻音乐,营造了轻松愉快的学习氛围。
Teaching Notes:
课堂上学生能够积极举手发言,新单词的掌握情况较好,个别同学对noise这个新单词不够熟练,在用动词ing的时候忘记加ing,以后还要注意加强练习。每个学生基本上都会用句型What are you doing?对正在发生的动作进行提问,此句型的答语I’m …ing .学生也掌握很好,课堂上游戏环节很多、有效,使学生在轻松愉快的环境中快乐地学习英语。最后一个拓展环节打电话,学生能够轻松自如地用英语交流3-4句,表现还是令人满意的。
