Teaching Procedure
Step1. Play a piece of music to Ss about happy birthday to lead in. Step2. Discussion:
Have you got any presents
How did you feel when you got a nice present
Step3. Listen and answer:
Listen to the dialogue once and answer the following questions:
Q1: What does Jenny want to do
Q2: What is Li Ming’s size
Q3: What does Jenny think the bright green jacket
Q4: What colour does Li Ming like best
Q5: What do they buy for Li Ming finally
Step4. Talk about the new words and some language points of the text:
I) New words and phrases;
II) Some difficult sentence of the text:
1.What can I do for you
2.Would he like a new jacket for his birthday
3.I think he’s the same size as Brian.
4.I don’t think Li Ming would like that jacket anyway.
5.I’m so excited to watch the football game.
Step5. Read and act:
Let the students role-play the dialogue before class loudly. And let them try to make up new ones after class
Step6.Consolidation:
I) Fill in the blanks with the proper forms of the words.
II) Complete the dialogue with your partner.
Step7. Sum up:

Step8. Homework:
i) Read the dialogue in groups freely, and try to make up new ones with your partner.
