二、教学设计
1、教学目标: 本部分Welcome to the unit内容贴近生活,所有学生都有话可说。教学目标主要是通过图片的展示和对现今社会的观察培养学生的良好的价值观,审美观;在辩论、讨论及竞赛中培养学生的团队合作精神;通过整合自己语言知识,训练学生说英语的能力以及用英语思维的能力。
2、内容分析:本部分是训练学生整合信息并输出的环节, 是整个单元的导入部分。重点是部分围绕looking good ,feeling good而展开,学生要在规定时间内形成并表达出自己的认识,这对高一学生而言不是很难,但要整合自己已有的知识并将其有条理地表达出来就有一定难度。
3、学情分析:本班学生具备较扎实的英语基础知识,能够在兴趣的基础上较轻松地完成讨论、辩论等各个教学活动。全班学生分为8个小组,能很好的开展小组合作探究学习。
4、设计思路: 根据教学目标先呈现众多图片提高学生的兴趣,把整个过程设计成debate 、discussion和competition等环节,使整个过程充满趣味性和挑战性,能充分激发学生的兴趣和提高学生的积极性,并很好地完成整个教学任务。

Step 1
Brainstorm
(2 minutes)
Show the title of this unit.
Questions:
“What does the title imply?”
Or “What can you think of when you see the title?”
Talk about the words they think of, such as health, beautiful, handsome, happy, etc.
从本单元标题入手,让学生对本单元的内容及重点有初步的了解,并为下面的环节做好铺垫。
Step 2
Lead in and debate
(15 minutes)
1. Show some pictures about some famous people to the students and answer the questions:
Is a person’s ability judged by their appearance?
What do you think is most important when you judge a person?
2. Then have a debate about the question:
Do you think appearance plays an important part in your life? Why or why not?
1. Enjoy the pictures.
2. Answer the questions and have a debate with their partners.

Discussion
(8 minutes)
Show their some other pictures of some unhealthy people and ask them to discuss the following questions:
1. Which do you think is more important, looking good or feeling good?
2. What do you do to keep yourself looking good and feeling good?
Discuss in groups and express their opinions later.

Step 4
Discussion and competition
(12 minutes)
Ask students to exchange their opinions of the following questions in groups and every group is supposed to speak out as many ways as possible. The group that gets the most ways will win the competition.
Since health is very important in our life, what are the ways to keep healthy?
Exchange their opinions in groups and present their ways to keep healthy to the whole class.
1.学生在上一个环节对审美和健康有了一定的认识,鼓励学生思考健康的问题,从而引导他们养成健康的生活习惯。
2.引入竞争意识,提高学生的积极性,活跃课堂气氛。

Find more information about how to keep fit and write a passage about “health and beauty” or “How to keep fit”.
写作作为语言的一种输出方式,能反映出学生对知识的掌握程度。
四、教学反思
反思起整个课堂教学过程,我觉得通过我设计的符合学生认知特点和水平的的课堂活动,收效主要表现在以下几点:
1 .提高了学生学习积极性
语言课上,学生为学而练,为练而说,会影响学习积极性。而采用辩论、讨论和竞赛的形式既完成了教学任务,又活跃了整个课堂的气氛,学生组员之间的合作更紧密,更积极地投入活动。
2 .有利于集体的团结互助
小组讨论、辩论、和竞赛等各种形式的活动都是集体活动,要求集体成员之间学会互相交际、互相尊重、互相协作。学生在合作中互相领会对方的交际意图,又努力使对方理解自己,同心协力完成任务,这对同学之间建立良好关系起到了一定作用,有益于班集体的团结互助。
3 .有益于融恰师生关系
本堂课设计的这些活动改善了师生关系,缩小了师生间的距离。因为教师以平易近人的组织者、参与者的身份引导活动的顺利进行,以潜移默化的方式去感染和影响学生,更好地达到了教学和教育目的,大大地提高了教师在学生心目中的威信和地位。
总之,在这次活动中,他们的注意力高度集中,思维的潜力得到充分挖掘,聪明才智得以充分发挥,英语水平得到明显提高。
但是,本次教学也有值得我去改进的地方:在活动中,有些部分情景过于笼统,交际任务不是特别明确。没有明确的交际任务,学生不能完全发挥其思维和创造力。因此要在设计活动时要注意创造具体的符合学生实际的情景,这是开展教学活动的重要前提。如在设计辩论时,所设问题Do you think appearance plays an important part in your life? Why or why not? 不是很适合学生发挥自己的创造力,因为大多数学生都认为“外貌在他们的生活中的不是很重要”,只有极少数的学生认为外貌重要,因此这样的辩论就显得有些苍白了。
