1. Ask students if they know any famous rivers. Then, show some rivers to them.
2. ask how many students live beside a river, and how people make use of rivers in their daily life.
3. Teacher ask: have you visited the Mekong River If no, let’s learn something about it.
4. Show a picture of the Mekong River and the brief introduction of it. Ask them:

2. Skimming the text and give the main ideas of each paragraph.
