1、教学目标:
(一) 知识目标
1)学习新单词paper ,printing ,powder ,compass and invent.
2)学习新句型
Chinese people invented paper/printing/powder/compass.
American people invented pen/computer.
English people invented bike/train.

1)学会描述各种发明。
2)了解过去式的一般用法以及读法。

1)通过对四大发明的学习,了解中国人是多么伟大。

2、内容分析:
本单元运用了”… people invented …”句型来描述各种发明。
3、学情分析:
小学四年级的学生已经具有一定的英语学习能力,已经学习了一般将来时、一般现在时的表达。同时,大多数孩子养成了良好的听说习惯,能够自觉预习、复习课文。
4、设计思路:
本课侧重从孩子平时生活中所熟悉的物品着手,让他们学会用所学句型描述这些物品都是什么人发明的。热身环节让学生唱“Children from China are Chinese”,帮他们复习了几个熟悉国家的人。

这节课运用了看卡片说句子,看图讨论发明,猜发明者等多种教学方式,充分调动了学生的学习积极性,让他们在这种轻松的氛围中快乐的学习英语。并通过各种方法综合地训练了学生的听说读写能力。在拓展环节让学生猜各种发明是哪个国家的人发明的和看图片说句子,提高了学生说英语的兴趣。特别是在介绍四大发明时,告诉学生我们中国人的伟大,激发孩子的爱国热情。
