1. Warm Up
(1) Sing some songs learnt last term.
(2) Say sth about the summer holiday in English, answer some questions according to the descriptions.
2. Review and Lead In
(1) Show some pictures and ask: What’s in/on/under… And teaches to answer with: There is/are…
(2) Ling is in London this term; let’s study to know sth about England follow her.
3. Present the new: Activity 1
(1) Show the pictures about the conversations and point to say sth. about the pictures in English.
(2) Listen and look at the pictures.
(3) Listen and point to the pictures.
(4) Listen and circle the new words.
(5) Learn to know the new words in groups. Report the new words which can’t learn and write them on board, then learning together.
(6) Listen, point and read. Then practice reading in groups. Then check.
(7) Listen and repeat. And write sth important on blackboard and explain or discuss sth about them.
(8) Have the students note the importance and study in groups.

培养小组合作意识,爱校爱家的美好情感。鼓励学生仔细观察,积极动脑。

1. 本课的教学重点是运用句型there was, there were, there is, there are描述事物或场景的变化。
2. 本课的教学难点是there was, there were, there is, there are句型结构的理解和运用。

Step 1:Warm up
1. Brainstorm.
出示五张图片,学生认读记忆图片(图片内容以单数形式出现)。
再出示十张图片,其中包含刚才学生读过的五张图,学生根据自己的记忆用There was a…before. There wasn’t a…before.来说。
同样方法出示内容为复数形式的图片,There were…before. There weren’t… before.
Step 2:Presentation and practice
1.Before Listening:(出示挂图)
T: Look at the pictures of the school.
Does it look different now
S: Yes, it does.
2. While listening:
1).听录音,每一遍解决一个问题,可通过pair work巩固操练。
Q1: How about the trees
There were lots of little trees here.
Now there are tall trees.
Q2: How about the playground
playground 操场, 教读。
There was a small playground here.
Now there is a big playground.
2).Listen and repeat. Then practice.
3.After listening:
1). How about our school
trees, playground, classroom, school gate…
There were…. Now there are…
There was…. Now there is…
Example
There was a small school gate.
Now there is a big school gate.
2). Look and say.

b).Find the differences.
Example
There were small desks in the classroom before.
There are big desks in the classroom now.
c).Practice in pairs.
Example
(Student A closes his/her book.)
B: There were small desks in the classroom before.
A: There are big desks in the classroom now.
After three turns, the students should swap roles.
Step 3: Consolidation and extension
1. Game: Find the differences and say.
A: There was/were…
B:Now there is/are…
Practice in groups.
反馈,比一比哪一组找到的最多。
2. Learn the song.
1).Before singing the song:
Talk about the pictures.
2).While singing the song:
Enjoy the song.
Repeat the sentences.
Sing along with the music.
3).After singing the song:
填喜爱的词唱歌.
Step 4: Summary
总结本课所学重点。
