Module 9 Unit 1 Other countries, other cultures
Project
一、基本说明
1教学内容所属模块: 模块九
2年级: 高中三年级
3所用教材出版单位: 译林出版社
4所属的章节: Unit 1
5学时数: 45分钟
二、教学设计
1.教学目标(Teaching aims)
Is Australia really a sporting nation?”进行讨论预测,引起学生对阅读本文的兴趣。通过阅读方法的指导,让学生能掌握一些好的写作技巧,让他们有运用到自己文章中的愿望。课堂通过设问、阅读、讨论、呈现创造一种师生“情感互动”的交际氛围,促使学生主动学习,互相学习,互相帮助,培养其合作精神,营造宽松、民主和谐的教学氛围。
2.内容分析(Analysis of the teaching material)
(Analysis of the student)
通过对前几个模块的学习与训练,学生已了解了学习project板块的目的和要求。因此,他们知道要如何通过阅读才能写出自己的文章。
4.设计思路(Thoughts on the design:)
Step 1 Lead-in
1) People often associate a country with some famous aspects of its culture. What do you suppose people think about when France, Britain, India or Australia is mentioned ?
(设计意图)这一部分作为热身,既顺利过渡到文章的阅读,又能通过交流拓宽学生的视野,丰富其文化内涵。关于法国、英国等国家文化特征的答案学生会有很多,要鼓励他们积极思维。通过设问,顺利导入“运动是否构成澳大利亚主要文化特征”的问题。
2) Investigation: Do you think sport is a distinctive cultural feature of Australia?
Step 2 Presentation
What do other people think?
Fast reading: 1) Get the students to read the first sentence of each paragraph of the magazine article quickly and try to answer this question: Is Australia really a sporting nation?
(设计意图)这部分采用快速阅读,旨在培养学生检索信息的能力。只读每段第一句,一是为了节省时间、提高阅读速度。二是使学生掌握这种写作技巧。
2) Find the linking words of each paragraph.
(设计意图)旨在让学生了解英语中关联词语的重要性,让他们在自己的文章中学会运用适当的关联词语,使文章层次分明,结构清楚。
Detailed reading:
Structure analysis :
Ask: How is information organized in the article?
Do you think how many parts the article should be divided into?”
Different students have different answers, encourage them to speak their views., then reach the agreement on the best answer together.
Analysis: Ask students to give the main idea of each part.
In the first part , let them find the key words or expressions which express Australian’s “love of sport” and the reasons.
In the second part, ask them find Australian’s popular sports. Fill in a chart.
In the third part, make the conclusion: Australia is indeed a great sporting nation!
3) Investigation: Do you think sport is a distinctive cultural feature of Australia?
通过对文章结构和内容进行比较认真细致的分析,主要是帮助学生学习文章的写作技巧,在此基础上再通过比较阅读前和阅读后两次调查的结果使学生感受这篇文章的说服力,从而引导学生进入下一步的文化比较。
Step 3 Discussion and presentation:
1) Students work in group of four to discussion: “What do you think are the most famous aspects of Chinese culture? Why do you think these aspects are famous or important?”
2) Choose one particular aspect and produce a presentation.
(设计意图)给每个学生都有运用英语进行交流的机会,充分地利用课堂,以进行生生,师生之间的情感交流,创造理想的交际环境,使课堂更活泼更生动。
Step 4 Summary and homework
1) After reading the passage we learn “why sport is a distinctive cultural feature of Australia”。I think now we must have known how to read and how to write an article of this kind.
2) Write an article about one distinctive aspect of Chinese culture.
