to eat and drink 在句中做lots 的后置定语。不定式和它所修饰的词之间有动宾关系,其中动词要用及物动词。如果是不及物动词,则要加相应的介词。例如:

2). Would you like something to drink 你要喝点什么吗?

2. You shouldn’t worry about not having breakfast then. 那么你就不应该担心没有早饭吃了。
worry about (not) doing sth. 意为“为(没)做某事而担心”, about 是介词,后接名词、代词或V-ing形式。worry about=be worried about, 其中worried 是形容词,用于修饰人,意为 “为……感到担心”;例如:
1). The teacher always worries about his students’ lessons. 那个老师总是担心学生们的功课。
2). The mother is always worried about her son’s safety. 那个母亲总是担心她儿子的安全。

1. Mr. Wu spend a lot of time explaining things to us.吴老师花很多时间把事情给我们说清楚。
句中的explain 是及物动词,意为“解释;讲解;说明”。可接从句作宾语。例如:
Could you explain why you left 你能解释你为什么离开吗?explain还可以作不及物动词,意为“解释;说明”, 常与介词about连用。向某人说明/解释某事:explain sth to sb.
例如:You have to explain about it. 你得解释这件事情。
常用结构为“sb.+ spend + 时间/金钱+(in)doing sth.” 意为“某人花……时间/……金钱做某事”,其主语是人。例如:They spent two years building this bridge. 他们话两年的时间建这座桥。
sb+ spend + 时间/金钱+on sth. 意为“某人花……时间/……金钱做某事”,后接名词(短语)。例如:We spend half an hour on homework every day. 我们每天花半小时做作业。
链接:It takes sb.+时间+to do sth. 意为“做某事花了某人多少时间”,其中it 为形式主语,真正的主语是后面的不定式。
例如:It took her two hours to fly to Beijing. 飞往北京花了她两小时。
“cost+(sb.) + 金钱”意为“花了某人多少钱”,其主语是物。例如:
This dress cost me 200 yuan. 这条裙子花了我200元。
pay作为“花费”解时,其主语必须是人,常用短语“sb.+ pay+金钱+for sth.”,意为“买某物花了多少钱”。 此处for是‘交换’的意思。
例如:I paid little money for the ticket. 我买票没花多少钱。

注意句型“It is/was + adj. +of/for sb. to do.”中of Sb. 和for sb. 的区别:使用of sb 时,其前面的形容词多是评价动作主人的品质、特征类的形容词,如kind, honest, wise, clever, silly, selfish, careful, foolish等,此时该句型可替换为“sb is +adj.+ to do”。例如:It is foolish of you to do that. 你那么做不明智。=》:You are foolish to do that。使用for sb.时,其前面的形容词多是评价事物的形容词,如easy, difficult, hard, important, necessary, possible 等;如: It is hard for me to fly a kite. 对我来说放风筝很难。词句型不可以改为:“sb is +adj.+ to do sth.”的句型。

“形容词+enough to do”结构还可以和“too…to”、“so…that s + can’t/can do”结构进行转换。

He is not strong enough to carry the box. = He is so weak that he can’t carry the box. = He is too weak to carry the box.

1. Predicative(表语)
表语说明主语“是什么”(名词类)或“怎么样”(形容词类),主要由名词或形容词类词(名词、形容词、副词、介词短语、不定式、分词、动名词等)来充当,常置于系动词(be, become, get, look, sound, taste等)之后。例如:
1) You look younger than before. (形容词作表语)
2) I am a teacher. (名词作表语)
3) They are at school now. (介词作表语)
4) My job is to teach you English. (不定式作表语)
2. Object Complement 宾语补足语 (简写为 OC)
在英语中一些句子里,仅有宾语是不能完整表达出句子意思的,还需在宾语后面加上补足语来补充说明宾语的情况和动作。我们常把“宾语+宾语补足语”合称为复合宾语。复合宾语中“宾语+宾语补足语”的关系有时类似一个句子的主谓关系。如,Mum told me to close the window. 妈妈叫我把窗户关起来。“me” 是宾语,但也是宾语补足语“to close the window” 的逻辑主语,即动作的发出者。含意是“我来关窗户”。
表语类词语和非谓语一般都可以作宾语补足语。例如:
1) My dog’s death made me very sad. (形容词作宾语补足语)
2) Max often tells funny jokes to make us laugh. (不定式作宾语补足语)
3) I saw a stranger hit by a red car. (过去分词作宾语补足语)
4) If you let me go, I’ll make you king. (名词作宾语补足语)
5) The boss kept them working all day. (现在分词作宾语补足语)
3. Adverbial 状语
状语用来修饰动词、形容词或副词。它表示行为发生的时间、地点、目的、方式、程度等,一般由副词、或相当于副词的词类(介词短语、不定式、分词)或从句来表示。状语一般放在句末,有时也放在句首、句中。例如:
1) He was badly ill.(副词作状语)
2) Justin can make good friends easily.(副词作状语)
3) You worry too much at times. (介词短语作状语)
4) I went to Nanjing to buy a new MP4. (不定式作状语)
