My Best Friend Dan 的教学案例

本课是一堂阅读课,是一堂比较务实且塌实的阅读课。因本次评比活动的宗旨的交流、研讨新课程理念下的初中英语课堂教学改革,探讨初中英语阅读课中“如何培养学生阅读方法与技巧”,促进英语教师人文素质和教学能力的提高。所以在处理这堂课的时候,我把培养学生的阅读方法和技巧当作是主要的目标。把scanning的阅读技巧设为这堂课的主要培养技巧,另外,为了能在一堂课中培养学生的多种阅读技巧,我还设计了guessing的环节,以为了在同堂课中能对学生两方面的技巧进行培养。

(A)教学步骤
? 一 迅速导入,直截了当
用1.Do you have a best friend in your daily life? 2.What is she/he like?两个文句迅速导入到正文。再由友谊引入到 Did you have your weakest moment? What was it? 再由此引入到Dan’s weakest moment。总共花了两三分钟时间已经导入到了正文。
?二 制造悬念,倒叙处理
导入中的Dan’s weakest moment,让学生带着好奇心,迫切想知道答案。由此带出了Dan’s speech for graduation。这个毕业发言,让学生对Dan所说的事情又充满了好奇。课文处理到这,是由一个悬念接另一个悬念展开的。并且把文章最后的毕业发言提前处理,在转到文章开头的故事,采用的是倒叙的方式。这种处理思路来源于语文阅读课,这样学生理解起来更方便,也容易让学生对故事本身的进展有探究的心理。
(1)????? Line24-Line28 这部分是Dan’s speech for graduation,主要是对survive 和tough进行猜测训练。并且引出文中的一句关键句“Being a friend is the best gift you can give”。由此倒叙至故事的开头。
(2)????? Line1-Line8 让学生带着两个问题1.What do I think of Dan at first? 2.What happened at that time? 对本段文章进行快速阅读。
(3)????? Line9-Line11 再一次让学生带着问题进行快速阅读的训练。问题是1.What did I do to help Dan? 2.What did Dan do after I helped him?
(4) Line12-Line17 这一部分主要讲述的是Dan and I 如何成为朋友的。让学生进行猜测的单词及词组是1.realized 2.hung out。并快速索引一个问题What kind of kid was Dan?
? 三 挖掘内容,发散思考
(1)这一部分是由Line18-Line21组成的,让学生再次进行快速阅读,并找出Dan’s change。这部分相对简单,学生可以之间在这段文章中找到主人公的变换。
(2)这一部分让学生在前一部分的基础上进行发散思考,是对内容的挖掘处理。提出的问题是What was Dan like before I helped him?让学生由Dan的现在想象到他的过去。
(3)这一部分是由Line35-Line37组成的,让学生再次进行快速阅读,并找出What was Dan’s huge mistake?-->He planned to drop out of school and run away from home。由此引出一个讨论:Why did Dan plan to drop out of school and run away from home?这个讨论是对内容的再次挖掘。
(4)第四部分是一个memory challenge,对课文中的事件进行整合,让学生对课文做进一步的了解。在根据这个连线题让学生进行retell,这是对课文内容的再次加深。
? 四 注重情感,内容升华
本人认为,所谓的教学,不仅仅是知识的传输,更应该是对学生情感的教育。所以在课堂的教学过程中,应该加强对学生的情感教育。因此在这一环节的安排上,围绕中心句—Being a friend is a best gift you can give,对学生进行深入的情感教育。让学生学会给予他人帮助,让学生明白对于他人施与小恩惠或小帮助,对处于困难中的他人是有实质性的含义的。所以在日常生活中不要吝啬给予他人帮助。

课后反思
一 内容处理上的不足
课后发现,对于文中的一句话,本人没有做到很好的处理,严格来说,根本没有处理。这句是--There was a grateful smile on his face。如果能把这句话挖掘一下,课堂效果会更好。比如教师可以问 “Why there was a grateful smile on his face”和“What was Dan’s feeling at that time?”这样的话,让学生对于主人公的情感也能加深了解和体会。而本人在课堂处理中,只侧重了学生对于课文的挖掘和加深,如能加入这一环节,那么也就更好地培养学生在情感上的挖掘能力了。
? 二 学生反映给予教师的思考
这堂课设在温州外国语学校,学生的外语程度远远超过老师的预料。留给我的思考是,作为教师要不段地加强自身素质,永远记住----学无止境!
