Teaching Steps:
I. Lead-in
1. Listen to a song named《The More We Get Together》
Ask: What’s the song about?
2. Free talk
Say something about your best friends.
3. New words: nerd, graduation, stupid
Look at the picture and say something about Dan.
II. Reading
A) Before Reading
Predict:
What’s the story mainly about according to the title?
B) While Reading
1. First reading: Read the story quickly and answer the questions.
(1).Where does the story take place?
(2).How long have the writer and Dan been friends?
(3).What does Dan have to do at the end of the story?
2 .Second reading: Read the story quickly again, number the pictures in order from 1 to 4.
3. Third reading:
a. Read the first 3 paragraphs carefully and answer these questions.
(1)What did I see on my way home from school one day?
(2)What did I do?
(3)What did I realize soon when we were talking ?
(4)What happened at last?
b. Read the last 2 paragraphs and try to finish the table.

C) After Reading
Dan changed a lot, because of his friend’s help. Do you want to help others when they are in trouble?
1.Show a picture of a girl and talk about her problems.
2.Work in groups of four: First choose one problem in each group. Then discuss the ways to solve the problem. Finally , choose one student to make a report.
III. Homework
1. Level A: Read the passage and recite the beautiful sentences in it.
2. Level B: Write a short passage about your friend’s help.
教学反思:
导入直接,简洁。
能够给予学生充分的时间获取文本信息。
作业布置能够体现一定的层次性。
对文本的挖掘不够深入,只停留在表层信息上,提问的有效性不够。
尽管在阅读过程中也在有意识地去培养学生的阅读策略,但运用不够,有些只留于形式。而且对不同阅读策略所起的作用的认识还有待进一步提高。
虽然学生对这篇文章的理解不是很难,语言障碍并不多,但对语言知识的呈现较少,对语言技能的培养不够。
在进行了一些语言上的铺垫后,教师本应设计一定的活动,就某个与文本相关的话题,让学生创造性地使用所学语言,表达自己的真情实感。但在本堂课的拓展活动中所涉及到的话题,从学生的回答中可以看出他们仅仅停留在原有的知识层面上,并没有很多地涉及文本中的语言知识或信息,更不用说是创造性地使用语言。后来我也在思考是否可以将最后的拓展改为让学生讨论:How will Dan’s life be in the future with / without friendship? What makes a good friend? Why do we need friends? 从而使学生对友谊有更进一步的认识。
