The students will be able to master the following new words and phrases: column, complaint, competitive, compete, ignore, hopefully, lose their cool and so on.
2. Reading skill:
(1) To let the students learn to predict something according to some information in the text.
(2) To let the students learn to get the details from the reading passage to check their predictions.
(3) To understand the text concerning Sang-mi’s problem and Hannah’s advice.

Step3 Before Reading
1. Look at the title of the text and the photo. What kind of text is it?
2. Predict something about Sang-mi’s letter:
1) Read the beginning of the letter, then predict Sang-mi’s problem with Lisa.
2) Read the next part of the letter below. Then predict what Sany-mi’s writes next.
3) Predict what Sang-mi will do at the end of the letter.

开课后的思考:
通过参加此次省优质课比赛,我最大的感受就是“痛并收获”着。这两天虽然辛苦,但细细回味起来,对自己以后的教学是有极大帮助的:我开阔了眼界,看到了自己的不足,以及在今后的教学中需要改进的地方。通过这节课,我觉得有以下几方面做的不是很好:
1. 课堂语言不够精练流畅, 重复太多。
2. 太过于关注教案的流程, 与学生的交流互动不够。
3. 应更深层次的挖掘文本,而不是点到为止。例如:在学生进行predict 时,应进一步问:How do you know? 而不是学生说出答案就结束了。
这次比赛虽然已经结束了,但我对英语教学的思考却会继续:怎样让自己的英语口语更纯真和丰富?怎样使自己的英语阅读课上的更有效?怎样培养和提高学生的阅读技能?如何更有效的帮助学生克服语言障碍?等等。我想这是我在教学上的一个新的起点,我将不断学习,不断反思,相信通过自己的不断努力,一定能拉近距离,不断提高。
