V. Teaching methods
The main instructional aim of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils’ basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. I will let the Students learn the words by playing games, finish a task by plying and singing to help the Students to get a better understanding of the words and sentences. I will arrange four kinds of activities: singing, playing games and having a competition.
VI. Teaching procedures
Step1 Greetings
Step2 Warming up and Lead in.
a) Magic game.
Step3. Presentation
1. Present the new words
(a) red
Learn the word by playing a magic game. Then lead the Students to read the phrase follow me. Make sure they can say it correctly. Learn the word‘pink’ by the same way.
Extension: a red sun/heart/fish/apple...
(b) yellow
Change the colours of the water and learn the new word.
Extension: a yellow rabbit/ banana...
(c) blue
Listen and guess.
Extension: a blue sky/sea...
(d) green
Yellow and blue is green.
(e) Playing an umbrella game.
(f) Learn the word “black” and “white”.
Step4 Colour the pictures. (Review the words)
Step5 Find Easter eggs. (Learn the new sentences)
Step6 Sing the chant.
