初三学生在积累词汇的过程中,有必要通过掌握一定量的英语习语来丰富其语言表达。因此,我设计了一系列有效的教学活动以提高他们的学习积极性。并有针对性地对他们进行“分层教学”,创设各种情境,使能力不一的学生均能达到各自的学习目标。同时,学生通过合作学习,获得“自主发展”
。学生们在课堂中及课后进行自主探究,积累一定量的英语生活用语和语言素材,有利于提高实际运用语言的能力。

Hollywood这篇课文是一篇采访报导。这篇文章用词丰富,涉及到了多个英语习语(idiom)。在设计本堂课的教学时,我的教学重点在于培养学生在不同语境中猜测英语习语的能力,并学会将这些新词汇运用到各种语境以及自己创设的语境中。
我的教学理念是:分层学习、自主发展。分层,既在于教学目标的分层,如补充习语的运用;又在于教学活动的分层,如学生可选择补充或创造对话;还在于作业的分层,选一至两条习语编写句子和选做作业的布置。自主,既体现在通过小组讨论、“拼图”活动等合作学习中,也体现在培养学生在课堂中通过查阅字典,课堂后通过其他途径获取习语及其他语言素材的能力。
