Dear Jamie,
I just returned from the fascinating Halloween celebration. I really can’t wait to share the alive atmosphere of this big event with you.
Its origin dates back 2000 years ago and comes from a holiday in memory of the dead on October 31. It has become a tradition for children to dress up and go house to house saying the words "trick or treat" to collect candy. Once refused, they might play a trick on them. No wonder kids are dreaming of the festival day and night. With time going by, now it is an entire month or even a season long celebration, and as a result even more people are gathering on Halloween activities. The day is absolutely marked by pumpkin carvings, parties and parades.
With the exciting singings and laughter outside, I couldn’t calm down to have a good rest. Do you have such an interesting celebration in China? Please share your experience with me.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours,
Susan
