Last
Thursday,
Michael
and
Linda
stood
behind
large
food
trucks
giving
out
meals
to
4,000
homeless
people
for
their
wedding
reception
on
the
border
town
of
Kilis.
The
couple
had
decided
that
instead
of
hosting
their
friends
and
family
for
a
traditional
feast
reception,
they
would
feed
the
people
who
suffered
from
an
earthquake.
The
idea
came
from
the
bridegroom’s(新郎)
father,
Ted,
who
volunteers
for
a
Turkish
relief
organization.
For
the
past
few
years,
the
organization
has
distributed
daily
meals
to
thousands
of
people
who’ve
suffered
from
natural
disasters.
He
approached
a
leader
of
the
organization
and
suggested
that
the
family
cover
part
of
the
costs
of
feeding
them
for
the
day.
Then
he
told
his
son,
who
was
surprised
by
the
suggestion,
but
soon
won
over.
When
he
told
that
to
the
bride,
she
was
really
shocked
but
finally
accepted
because
in
southeastern
Turkey
there
is
a
real
culture
of
sharing
with
people
in
need.
They
love
to
share
their
food,
their
table
and
everything
they
have.
And
afterwards
she
was
quite
amazed
about
it.
So,
they
arrived
at
the
distribution
center
on
Thursday
to
spend
the
day
serving
food
and
taking
photographs
with
their
grateful
recipients.
On
Tuesday
evening,
the
newly
married
couple
were
still
pleased
with
their
decision
to
quit
a
personal
celebration
for
one
with
a
greater
good.
"It’s
like
sharing
a
dinner
with
your
friends
and
family
who
have
this
kind
of
thing
on
a
daily
basis
—
or
sharing
something
with
people
who
don’t
even
have
the
most
basic
things,"
Michael
said.
"Hopefully,
this
will
also
give
the
start
for
other
wedding
dinners
to
be
held
here
with
our
brothers
and
sisters
in
need."
24.
Why
did
so
many
people
crowd
in
Kilis
A.
To
attend
Michael
and
Linda’s
wedding.
B.
To
support
the
organization.
C.
To
escape
the
damaging
earthquake.
D.
To
help
distribute
free
daily
meals.
25.
How
did
the
couple
celebrate
their
wedding
A.
They
treated
their
friends
and
relatives
to
a
big
dinner.
B.
They
shared
their
happiness
with
the
homeless
in
Kilis.
C.
They
afforded
the
entire
cost
of
the
day
for
feeding
victims.
D.
They
took
photos
with
the
grateful
victims.
26.
What
does
the
underlined
word
"approached"
in
Paragraph
2
mean
A.
took
in.
B.
moved
towards.
C.
came
across.
D.
talked
with.
27.
We
can
know
from
the
text
that
___________.
A.
Kilis
is
a
place
which
lies
in
southeastern
Turkey
B.
Ted
was
a
leader
of
the
organization
C.
Linda
followed
the
suggestion
immediately
she
heard
it
D.
Michael
doubted
if
more
new
couples
would
follow
him
C
It
is
difficult
for
parents
of
nearly
every
family
to
teach
their
children
to
be
responsible
for
housework,but
with
one
of
the
following
suggestions,you
really
can
get
your
children
to
help
at
home.
If
you
give
your
children
the
impression
that
they
can
never
do
anything
quite
right,then
they
will
regard
themselves
as
unfit
or
unable
persons.
Unless
children
believe
they
can
succeed,they
will
never
become
totally
independent.
My
daughter
Carla’s
fifth grade
teacher
made
every
child
in
her
class
feel
special.
When
students
received
less
than
a
prefect
test
score,she
would
point
out
what
they
had
mastered
and
said
firmly
they
could
learn
what
they
had
missed.
You
can
use
the
same
technique
when
you
evaluate(评价)
your
child’s
work
at
home.
Don’t
always
scold
and
give
lots
of
praise
instead.
Talk
about
what
he
has
done
right,not
about
what
he
hasn’t
done.
If
your
child
completes
a
difficult
task,promise
him
a
Sunday
trip
or
a
ball
game
with
Dad.
Learning
is
a
process
of
trying
and
failing
and
trying
and
succeeding.
If
you
teach
your
children
not
to
fear
a
mistake
of
failure,they
will
learn
faster
and
achieve
success
at
last.
28.The
whole
passage
deals

A.social
education
B.school

D.pre school
education
29.The
article
gives
us
a
good
suggestion
about
how
to
evaluate
your
child’s
work
at
home.
That
is
to________.
A.praise
his
success
B.promise
him
a
trip
C.give
him
a
punishment
D.promise
him
a
ball
game
30.The
author
advises
readers
to________.
A.learn
from
himself,for
he
has
a
good
way
of
teaching
B.take
pride
in
Carla’s
fifth grade
teacher
C.do
as
what
Carla’s
teacher
did
in
educating
children
D.follow
Carla’s
example
because
she
never
fails
in
the
test
31.Having
read
the
last
paragraph,we
can
conclude
that________.
A.pride
goes
before
a
fall
B.practice
makes
perfect
C.no
pains,no
gains
D.failure
is
the
mother
of
success
D
Want
to
lose
weight
Try
eating.
That’s
one
of
the
ways
being
developed
by
scientists
experimenting
with
foods
that
trick
the
body
into
feeling
full.
At
the
Institute
of
Food
Research
in
Norwich,
England,
food
expert
Peter
Wilde
and
his
colleagues
are
developing
foods
that
slow
down
the
digestive
system,
which
then
sends
a
signal
to
the
brain
that
stops
appetite(胃口).
“That
fools
you
into
thinking
you’ve
eaten
far
too
much
when
you
really
haven’t,”
said
Wilde.
From
his
studies
on
fat
digestion,
he
said
it
should
be
possible
to
make
foods,
from
bread
to
yoghurt,
that
make
it
easier
to
diet.
While
the
research
is
still
in
its
early
stages,
Wilde’s
way
of
controlling
appetite
is
one
that
some
doctors
say
could
be
a
key
to
solving
the
problem
of
obesity.
“Being
able
to
switch
off
appetite
would
be
a
big
help
for
people
having
trouble
losing
weight,”
said
Steve
Bloom,
a
professor
of
investigative
medicine
at
London’s
Imperial
College,
who
is
not
connected
to
Wilde’s
research.
Bloom
said
that
regulating
appetite
through
foods
is
theoretically
possible.
But
Bloom
warned
that
controlling
appetite
may
be
very
challenging.
“The
body
has
lots
of
things
to
prevent
its
regulatory
systems
from
being
tricked,”
he
said.
Wilde’s
research
makes
use
of
the
body’s
ways
of
digesting
fat.
Fat
normally
gets
broken
down
in
the
first
part
of
the
small
intestines(肠道).
When
you
eat
a
high-fat
meal,
however,
the
body
can
only
digest
the
fat
entirely
further
down
in
the
intestines,
which
then
causes
the
body
to
produce
a
kind
of
chemical
to
stop
the
appetite.
Wilde’s
approach
copies
what
happens
with
a
high-fat
meal.
He
covers
fat
droplets(滴)in
foods
with
modified
proteins
(改性蛋白质)from
plants,
so
it
takes
longer
for
the
chemical
that
breaks
down
fat
to
reach
it.
That
means
that
the
fat
isn’t
digested
until
it
hits
the
far
reaches
of
the
intestines.
At
that
point,
intestinal
cells
send
a
signal
telling
the
brain
it’s
full.
Even
though
the
body
hasn’t
had
a
high-fat
meal,
it
stops
the
appetite
as
if
it
has.
If
the
fat
had
been
digested
earlier
in
the
intestines,
no
such
signal
would
be
sent.
32.
According
to
Wilde’s
research,
what
could
people
do
if
they
want
to
lose
weight
A.
Eat
more
bread
and
yoghurt.
B.
Trick
the
body
by
eating
nothing.
C.
Eat
foods
with
fat
droplets
covered.
D.
Control
their
digestive
system
strictly.
33.
The
underlined
word
“obesity”
in
Para.
2
most
probably
means
“________”.
A.
being
too
fat
B.
eating
too
much
food
C.
stopping
appetite
D.
being
unhealthy
34.
What
can
be
inferred
about
Professor
Bloom’s
opinion
towards
Wilde’s
approach
A.
It
won’t
work
since
the
body’s
regulatory
systems
will
never
be
tricked.
B.
It
is
sure
to
switch
off
the
appetite
of
people
with
a
weight
problem.
C.
It
sounds
terrible
because
regulating
appetite
through
foods
is
not
practical
at
all.
D.
It’s
not
that
easy
to
trick
the
body
so
more
research
should
be
done.
35.
Which
of
the
following
is
TRUE
about
Wilde’s
way
A.
A
kind
of
chemical
is
added
to
make
a
high-fat
meal
less
fatty.
B.
Fat
is
digested
earlier
and
the
body
sends
a
signal
telling
the
brain
it’s
full.
C.
Fat
won’t
get
broken
down
in
the
first
part
of
the
small
intestines.
D.
The
chemical
that
breaks
down
fat
will
not
reach
the
fat.

Although
problems
are
a
part
of
our
lives,
it
certainly
doesn't
mean
that
we
let
them
rule
our
lives
forever.
One
day
or
another,
you'll
have
to
stand
up
and
say,
“problems,
I
don't
want
you
in
my
life.”
36
Problems
with
friends,
parents,
girlfriends,
husbands,
and
children—the
list
goes
on.
Apart
from
these,
the
inner
conflicts
within
ourselves
work,
too.
These
keep
adding
to
our
problems.
Problems
come
in
different
shaped
and
colors
and
feelings.
But
good
news
is
that
all
problems
can
be
dealt
with.
Now
read
on
to
know
how
to
solve
your
problems.
Talk,
it
really
helps.
What
most
of
us
think
is
that
our
problem
can
be
understood
only
by
us
and
that
no
talking
is
going
to
help.
__37__
Talking
helps
you
move
on
and
let
go.
Write
your
problems.
__38__
When
you
write
down
your
problems,
you
are
setting
free
all
the
tension
from
your
system.
You
can
try
throwing
away
the
paper
on
which
you
wrote
your
problems.
By
doing
this,
imagine
yourself
throwing
away
the
problems
from
your
life.
Don't
lose
faith
and
hope.
No
matter
what
you
lose
in
life,
don't
lose
faith
and
hope.
Even
if
you
lose
all
your
money,
family...
you
should
still
have
faith.
__39__
Your
problems
aren't
the
worst.
No
matter
what
problem
you
get
in
life,
there're
another
one
million
people
whose
problems
are
huger
than
yours.
__40__
Your
problems
might
just
seem
big
and
worse,
but
in
reality
they
can
be
removed.
Go
about
and
solve
your
problems
because
every
problem,
however
big
or
small,
always
has
a
way
out.
A
.
Tell
yourself:
when
they
can
deal
with
them,
why
can't
I
B.Having
a
personal
diary
can
also
be
of
huge
help
if
you
don't
want
a
real
person
to
talk
with.
C.When
we
have
a
problem,
a
pressing,
critical,
urgent,
life-threatening
problem,
how
do
we
try
and
solve
it
D.But
the
truth
is
that
when
you
talk
about
it,
you're
setting
free
the
negative
energies
that
have
been
gathering
within
you.
E.We
can
often
overcome
the
problem
and
achieve
the
goal
by
making
a
direct
attack.
F.Of
course,
we've
been
fighting
troubles
ever
since
we
were
born.
G.With
faith
and
hope,
you
can
rebuild
everything
that
you
lose.

【参考范文】
We all want to grow up happily and healthily, and for this goal we must do several things.
Firstly, we should develop a good attitude to life. Life consists of not only sunshine but also hard times. We should be brave in front of difficulties. Secondly, we must study hard because knowledge is power. If we have the power, we can help to build our country and enjoy life better. In order to study well, we need to do sports so that we can keep fit. We can go running, play ball games or simply take a walk after a day’s study, which makes a difference.
If we do those things well, we will be able to grow up happily and healthily.
