四、阅读理解(每小题2分,共30分)
A
Dear sir,
I am doing a project (课题) at school about animals in danger. I think the situation all over the world is really awful (极坏的).
Firstly, I feel so sorry for the giant panda. It’s one of the most popular animals in the world. We learned that pandas mainly live on bamboos, and that a panda can eat half its body’s weight (重量) of bamboos in 24 hours! That’s a lot of bamboo. I think we should try to do more to stop cutting down their forests. We would be so sad if they became extinct (灭绝的) forever (永远).
Secondly, what we should try to protect more is the Chinese alligator (短吻鳄). These creatures (生物) live in some parts of eastern China. They live in freshwater (淡水的) rivers and lakes but the water in some places isn’t clean enough for them to live in. It’s really dirty in fact. The government should stop factories from polluting the lakes and rivers
If we protect these beautiful animals in China, more people may come to China to visit our beautiful country, especially to see the quieter areas in the country. Now most visitors just see the cities.
I hope you will encourage (鼓励) more people to think about such an important subject.
Yours,
Huang Jing

Many birds live comfortably in Zhalong Nature Reserve all year round, while some only stay for a short time. There are many fish in the wetlands, and the birds can easily catch them for food. Zhalong Nature Reserve is an important living area for the rare (稀少的) red-crowned cranes (鹤). There are not many red-crowned cranes in the world. Some of them live in Zhalong.
Some people want to change the wetlands to make more space for farms and buildings. This means that there will be less and less space for wildlife.21·世纪*教育网

smell. Wolves eat animals, insects (昆虫) and snails (蜗牛) and others. They are friendly to each

To protect the animals is to protect ourselves. It’s very important for us to protect the wild animals. We should plant more trees to help wild animals live in peace. We can raise some money to help protect them. We must do something to stop people killing them.
