介绍本国文化和了解西方文化的兴趣，培养他们预测，理解大意，推断等听和读的技能，同时帮助学生发展自主学习的意识，进一步增强其对祖国文化的热爱和西方文化的了解。

教材分析（简要）本课以Unit5 Topic1 China attracts millions of tourists from all over the world.为基础。本单元通过Susanna 和Mr.Gao 之间关于孔子的一次对话
引入本部分的学习，在学习相关话题的听力和阅读输入基础上，学习有关中国
历史人物的英文表达方式。在语境中继续呈现定语从句结构。
学情分析
九年级的学生有了一定的基础知识的积累，本话题是有关中国历史人物孔子，学生对此话题有一定的了解，但话题涉及的一些单词如
philosopher,Confucius等对学生来说较难，学生之前已经初步学习
that ,which关系代词引导的定语从句，本节课讲继续学习who,whom ,whose 引导的定语从句。
