本课时是PEP教材八年级下册Unit7的第三课时，是阅读课。
本课经过多次研讨和修改而成，因此有许多设计比较成功，但也有个别细节处理不当。具体反思如下：
亮点：
1. 通过播放喜马拉雅山脉介绍视频，帮助学生快速而且轻松地融入课堂，引出了本课的主题，为整堂课做下了铺垫，学生整节课都乐于学习，对于学生兴趣的维持起到了重要的作用。
2.导学恰当，时间短，学生的学习过程长。
3.通过小组合作，学生自学单词，根据音标自己试着读出单词，然后找个别同学读，分组齐读，很好地激发学生的挑战性。
4，通过比赛记忆单词的形式，很好地激励了学生读记单词的积极性。
5，通过默写单词，让学生对单词的形掌握更牢固，落实较有力。
6，通过播放一位盲人登山者的公益广告，进行情感教育，培养学生勇往直前,决不放弃，相信自己的拼搏精神，思想情感渗透较好。
7，最大的亮点在于当堂训练，放手让学生自学，自己解决问题，训练学生自己答疑解难。
不足：
在练习环节，没有给学生留有足够的练习时间，没有顾及到所有同学，尤其是不举手的同学。
作业应该具有层次性，这样才能适合所有程度的学生，可以有免检作业。
