Unit6 Don’t eat in class. Section B 1a-2c 教材分析
In this unit, the topic and main aim are to help students know the rules both in school and at home. As for the grammar learning, the students can acquire the usage of must, have and other modal verbs as well the the differences of them. This period is the key for students to improve their abilities to talk about even write down the rules.
After this period learning, the students should be able to know the importance of the rules. In this period, the rules for the students are moved from school to homes. According the content of this period, the students can get practice by listening to the rules at home and school. Then they could know the importance of obeying the rules. What’s more, the students are able to consolidate the vocabulary of this unit by listening and reading. Know the structures of the imperatives Do… and Don’t…
In 1a-1c, the students can use the rules at home and school to warm up and help them to guide to the new lesson learning. The background and the content of this period are easy for the students to master. From 2a to 2d, the students can use the modal verbs to talk about their school rules and family rules. The two letters can help the students to understand the importance of having rules and the reasons why the must obey the rules. In the end, the students should understand the world can’t work normally without rules. Especially for the teenagers, they aren’t the adult, they should get good education and healthy lifestyle to help them to be a good man.

In this period of class, I use the clue “Follow the rules” to help students achieve their learning objectives. To be frank, the textbook was made very vividly and very close to students’ real life, so it’s a good opportunity to help me get my teaching goals.
In the first part, I try to make the class atmosphere lively, so I use the two questions--1. Do you like rules? Do you have any rules at home and school? 2. What rules do you have at school? To my satisfaction, the students did very well in answer the two questions and the answers are fit to my imagination.
Following my tasks, the students could understand the importance of the rules step by step and they could understand why we should obey the rules. I use the proverbs to help them acquire the target language.
I also have some fault, the time arranged is not proper. I wasted some time during my instructions. What’s more, my speed was a little faster, so some students have trouble following me. Because of my incorrect operation, the video wasn’t very smooth and there was also something wrong with the screen, which made me embarrassed. And for this reason, I also wasted a little time. If I can arrange my time properly and give the students more time to understand the text as well as the group-work time, I believe they could learn more and get more useful information. Even though I has tried my best to make all of the students involved in my class, there were still some students couldn’t be active in my class. Only a few students were very active. I need to think of more ways to make them take part in my tasks and can benefit more.
