1.Present by showing the photo of a calendar.

英语中十二月份的缩写形式
一般是单词的前三个字母,只有9月是前4个,具体如下: 1月 January—Jan. 2月 February—Feb. 3月 March—Mar. 4月 April—Apr.
5月 May不需缩写 6月 June—Jun. 7月 July—Jul. 8月 August—Aug. 9月 September—Sept. 10月 October—Oct. 11月 November—Nov. 12月 December—Dec.。
【注意】 缩写时第一个字母一定要大写,后面得有个点。
[设计意图] 运用日历图片教月份名词,更加直观形象,有利于学生理解。同时结合月份单词的缩写形式,让学生多角度学习月份词汇。
Step Ⅲ.Listening activities(1b)
1.Before listening, ask the class to read the dialogue in the picture.
T:Look at the picture again.Read the dialogue in the picture.(Get students to read the dialogue aloud in the picture.)
T:Now underline the words of month.
Ss underline the words in the picture and prepare for the listening.
2.T:Listen to the recording, please.Number the conversations [1—3].

1.英语中序数词的缩写形式
英语中序数词一般词尾都为-th,第一,第二,第三除外,它们的缩写形式均在阿拉伯数字后面加上相应序数词的最后两个字母构成。

  2.英语中年月日的写法
英语中日期有两种写法:一种是按月、日、年的顺序排列,另一种是按日、月、年的顺序排列。年份要放在最后,其前用逗号与月、日隔开。以2001年3月21日为例:
(1)把月份写在日期前面,这通常是美式写法,即:
March 21st, 2001,读作March the twenty-first, two thousand and one
(2)先写日子,再写月份和年,这通常是英式写法,即:
21st March, 2001,读作the twenty-first of March, two thousand and one

【拓展】 表示“某人的生日”有两种形式:“形容词性物主代词+birthday ”或 “名词所有格+birthday”。
When is her birthday?她的生日是什么时候?
When is your mother’s birthday?你妈妈的生日是什么时候?
My birthday is on May 2nd.我的生日是五月二日。
【注意】 (1)在某年用介词in,在某月用介词in,在某年某月用介词in,在某日用介词on。

(2)在英语日期的表达中,“日”用序数词表达,书写时定冠词the 可以省略,“年”用基数词表达,读年份时可以将前两位数字作为一个单元,后两个数字作为一个单元。
