First Aid on Drowning
It is important for us to learn some knowledge about first aid in our daily life. If a person has an accident, he needs medical care before a doctor can be found. When we give first aid, we must pay attention to three things. First, the most important thing to keep in mind is to stay calm. Second, you’d better decide what to do at once. Finally, call an ambulance if necessary. If there has been a drowning person, first you have to lay the person on his back. Second, put a finger on his neck to check if the person is conscious or breathing. If the person cannot breathe, do your best to start his / her breathing at once. You can press his chest. Then tilt the person’s head backwards and blow into his mouth, using mouth-to-mouth method. Continue this until he starts his breathing. Finally, you’d better put the person into recovery position until the ambulance comes. Only in this waycan the person be saved in time. In a word, knowing how to give first aid is of great importance. We should know some first aid in order to save other people’s lives as well as our own. If everyone knew some knowledge about giving first aid, many more lives would be saved.1. Emphasizing some main points for writing a process essay: (by the teacher)

Explain the process in a scientific and clear way.
Use the conjunctive words such as “first, second, …”.Step 7 Summary(5 minutes)2. Raising a summing-up question:

【Task 2】 Publish a blackboard newspaper, introducing how to give first aid in different situations.Step 8 Homework(1 minute)【Goal】
