教学过程 Step 1. Leading inReview the expressions for different chores and sentence structures, Could you please … / Could I … Ask students to work in pairs to practice the structures.Step 2. Fill in the blanks3a This activity provides practice with key vocabulary words.Read the instructions.Read the conversation to the class with a student. Say blank every time you come to a blank.Ask students to fill in each blank with the word make or do.Check the answers.Answers: do chores, do the laundry, make your bed, do the dishes and make breakfast.Ask students to read the conversation in pairs.Step 3. Pairwork3b This activity provides guided oral practice using the target language.Ask two students to read the sample phrases.Read the instructions to the class. Then say, First write a list of all the chores you do at home. Then work with a partner Talk about the chores you do and say why you like or don't like to do each one.Call attention to the list of chores in activity la. Say, These are some chores people have to do. What are some others Write down several suggestions on the board. Say, Now write a list of chores you have to do.Practice making statements with the whole class. Ask a student to say the name of a chore. Then ask another student to say I like or I don't like (doing that chore). Then ask a third student to give a reason. For example: Student I says, Washing the windows. Student 2 says, I don't like washing the windows. Student 3 says, I don't like washing the windows because I don't like ladders.Help students find partners. Have the students work together for a few minutes.Then ask several different students say their statements to the class. You may wish to write some of these statements on the board and ask the rest of the class to repeat the statements. This is a good way to help students review vocabulary words at the same time as they practice new sentence forms.Step 4. Groupwork 4 This activity provides speaking practice using the target language. Write the list of chores on the board. Ask students to work in groups of 4 or 5. Help students form their groups. Then give each group a set of blank cards. Ask the students in each group to copy each sentence on the board onto a card. Read the instructions to the class. Say, The first student turns over a card, and asks the person next to him to do this chore. That person needs to say "no" and give a reason or excuse. Each person should give an excuse that has not been given before. If they can, they can turn over a card and ask the next person to do the chore on the card. If they can't, they are out of the game! You may wish to play one sample round with one group. Demonstrate an example excuse, such as "Sorry, I can't! I have to practice the guitar." Encourage students to use as many excuses as they like. The aim of the game is to avoid having to do the chores, for any reason! The player who can keep coming up with excuses will stay in the game the longest, and will be the winner.Step 5.
