教学过程 Step 1. Leading inShow pictures of some cute dogs. Ask students if they like dogs and if they keep a dog. Ask students how to take care of a dog. Make a list of things people should do.Step 2. Reading3a This activity provides reading and writing practice using the target language.Read the instructions. As you come to the word exercise, point to the heading exercise in the chart. Do the same for the headings cleaning and food.Ask students to read the letter on their own. Then read the instructions again and point out the sample answer. Say, Take him for a walk is under the heading exercise because talking a dog for a walk is part of its exercise.Ask students to complete the chart on their own. Ask students to pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation. Ask students to read the message and then retell it.Step 3. Imitation writing3b This activity provides writing practice using the target language. Read the instructions. Ask a student to read the beginning of the e-mail message. Say, Now finish the message. You can get ideas about things to write from activities 2b on page 68. Ask some students to read their messages to the class .Ask class members to comment on and correct each other's messages.Step 4. Ask for help3c This activity provides writing practice using the target language.Read the instructions. Point out the sample e-mail and ask a student to read it to the class.Ask students to say some other things they might need help with. For example: clean the house, buy drinks and snacks, go to the store, sweep the floor, bring pictures. Write some of these requests on the board. Ask students to say each item as a polite request. For example, Could you help me clean the house Could you bring some pictures Ask students to finish their e-mail messages on their own. Ask some students to read their messages to the class.Step 5. Groupwork4 This activity provides guided oral practice using the target language. Read the instructions. Point out the sample conversation. Ask three students to read it to the class. Say, You will work in groups of three. Each of you will use different information on a different page of the book. Make a conversation about having a party. Help the students divide into groups of three. Then have the group members decide who is student A, student B, and student C. Have the student A in each group look at page 83. Student B at page 85. Student C looks at page 86. Remind the students to look only at their own pages. Have one group of students read the sample sentences again. Say, Now read your own information. Then have a conversation like this one with the other students in your group. If necessary, have one group say their conversation with your help as the other groups listen. Then have all the groups practice their own conversations. Ask several groups to say their conversations to the class.Step 6.
