新课程标准强调课程应从学生的学习兴趣，生活经验 和认知水平出发，倡导体验，实践，参与，合作与交流的学习方式和任务型的教学途径，发展学生的综合语言运用的能力，使语言学习的过程成为学生形成积极的情感态度、主动思维和大胆实践、自主学习能力的过程，把舞台还给学生，由学生当演员，唱主角，充分体现学生的主体地位，让学生充分发挥主体作用，提高课堂效率。因此在本节课的教学设计中，我遵循了新的课程标准，侧重了以下几个方面：21教育网
1．创设各种情景，鼓励学生大胆地使用英语，对他们在学习过程中的失误和错误采取宽容的态度。使他们掌握最基本的知识的同时，注意拓宽知识面，关注优生的情况，给他们自主学习和直接交流的机会。 21cnjy.com
2．鼓励学生通过体验、实践、合作、探索等方式，发展听、说、读、写的综合能力。
3．采取任务型教学的模式，创造条件让学生能够探究他们自己的一些问题，并自主解决问题。
4． 关注学生情感，创造民主、和谐的教学气氛。把英语教学与情感培养有机地结合起来，创造各种合作学习的活动，促进学生互相学习，互相帮助，体验成就感，发展合作精神。
但是本节课仍然有很多不足的地方，比如学生在进行了听力练习之后，我是运用了一个calendar，让学生对十二个月份的节假日进行对话，这样就限定了学生的参与面，如果提前布置task，让学生回家查询资料，并把十二个月份的节日以小组为单位进行汇报，那样学生的参与程度能更大一些，整堂气氛能更加的活跃。21世纪教育网版权所有
这是一节听说课，groupwork中强调了语法，对接下来的读写课做好准备，但是学生的课后练习反馈中感觉对于部分学生有“吃不饱”的现象，初一学生可以进行分层次的练习，满足不同水平学生的英语学习要求。21·cn·jy·com
教材分析
本单元的话题是谈论日期，以When is your birthday？为话题,以谈论“生日”为主线，将十二个月份的名称、序数词的学习融入到小组活动任务中，谈论某人的生日在什么时候。重点是询问和回答。学生通过询问对方的生日来完成最终目标：日期表达。
本节课是Section A的第一课，是一节听说课，第一部分重点呈现日期的表达，包括十二个月份的名称以及序数词的学习。第二部分扩展到第三人称的生日，继续学习和巩固日期的表达法，在已有的基础上继续拓展和延伸。在话题上,围绕着“When is your birthday”进而上升到父亲节和母亲节以及父母的生日。语言上进一步综合训练，巩固单元的重点语言内容；在技能上，侧重于听，说，读的综合训练。充分练习听力的基础上加强对话和沟通，为下一节的初步阅读写作做好准备，既巩固了语言学习目标，又培养了学生的合作能力和交际能力，培养他们做个有孝心的人，感恩家庭，孝敬父母。
