教材简析:
本单元主要围绕“季节及气候”这个话题开展各项活动,所涉及到日常交际项目有介绍、询问、建议等,其中以“询问天气”及其应答为重点内容,同时学习一些常用的与气象相关的词汇。
学情分析:
六年级的学生能够主动与他人合作,共同完成学习任务;能够积极地调动各种感官参与课堂教学的各项活动;具有一定的语言基础,词汇量也较为丰富;能够注意观察生活中与所学的内容相关的事务,综合运用所学知识进行交流。
设计理念:
1、突出学生主体,激发学习热情
《新课程标准》明确指出,英语教学要突出学生主体,即英语教学要始终使学生发挥主体作用,要采用以学生为中心的教学思路,要设计以学生为中心的教学活动,要根据学生生理特点、心理特点以及他们的兴趣、爱好来选择教育教学材料。而实践证明,当学生对某一知识产生兴趣时,就容易产生与此相关的想象,学习激情活跃,思维创造性也就能得以充分发挥。因此,本节课的设计遵循了“以人为本”的理念,让活动贯穿于整个英语课堂教学中,鼓励学生主动参与、主动探索、主动思考和主动实践,建立开放的、民主的、活跃的新型课堂教学模式,使学生真正成为课堂的主人。
2、采用活动途径,倡导体验和参与
在英语课堂教学中,应努力倡导学生的积极参与,让学生在学习过程中不仅能构建知识、提高语言能力,而且通过感知、体验、实践、参与和合作探究等活动方式,完成任务和实现目标。因此本节课我采用“任务教学法”,结合学习内容设计了各项活动,引导学生在完成“问天气”的具体任务的过程中学习和运用语言,达到学以致用的目的。
3、关注学习过程,渗透积极有效的阅读策略
国内外外语学习策略研究表明,成功的语言学习者比不太成功的语言学习者使用的策略多,而且使用的频率更高。因此在整个教学过程中,我注意对学生学习过程和学习效果的监控和反思,处理好传授知识与培养能力的关系,引导学生质疑、调查、探究,总结,从而促使学生形成良好的学习策略。

5、通过了解纽约城市的气候及环境,拓展学生的文化视野。

1、整体理解语篇并初步流利朗读课文。
2、进一步掌握三会、四会句型。
四、教学难点:
1、能用所学句型谈论天气情况。
2、了解be going to时态并能造句。

六、教学过程:
Step1. Enjoy a song: seasons.
(设计意图:通过这首与本课主要内容紧密联系的歌曲给学生一个心理铺垫,让他们预测出本节课所学的内容。同时歌曲中出现的关于季节和天气的单词也能帮助学生复习上节课所学的内容,并为下面的自由对话打下伏笔。)
Step2. Free talk

2. How many seasons are there in a year? What are they?
3. Which season do you like best? Why?
4. Say a chant. (课件呈现)

(设计意图:通过师生之间的自由对话和自编儿歌复习巩固上节课所学内容,激发了学生的学习兴趣,让学生感受英语儿歌的音律美。)

1. Teach: countryside city-New York City

③Su Yang wants to know New York, too. Because her dad is going to work there. Look, she is asking Ben some questions.
(设计意图:countryside是本课中一个较难的单词,而课堂的前十分钟又是学生注意力最集中学习能力最强的时候,因此我从countryside这个单词入手,让学生先感受乡村美景,再体验城市风光,拓展学生的文化视野,为下文谈论纽约天气做好铺垫。)
2. Teach the first part of the text.

② Answer Q1 and teach “ be going to”.

(设计意图:复述是一种比较有挑战性的口语练习活动,它不是对课文的简单、机械重复,而是创造性地再现已学课文内容。这一训练给学生提供了运用所学语言的机会,有利于加深学生对课文的理解。在这里我设计了复述的任务,目的就是检查学生对本篇课文的理解程度以及对所学语言的运用情况。)

八、教后反思:
语篇教学是当前小学英语界的一个研究热点,高年级语篇应该如何教,很多老师、专家也作了大量的研究。纵观我这节课的教学,我觉得有两点做得比较成功。
首先,我加强了对学生阅读方法的指导。经常有老师有这样的困惑,语篇练习中的问题都能从原文中找到答案,为什么学生还错很多?我认为这是教师高估了学生的阅读理解能力。学生首先要理解问题,然后要带着问题寻读课文,抓住关键信息,这样才能理解课文。因此在导言教学部分我设计了三个问题,引导学生通过听录音抓答案的方式,促使学生捕捉关键词,理解语言材料;在对话教学部分,我有让学生自己寻找问题,合作解决问题,培养了学生自主探究的能力。
其次,我注重联系生活,学以致用。“问天气”是生活中常用到的语言,因此,我通过多媒体课件向学生展示了“乡村四季”、“纽约风光”、“家乡美景”等图片,为学生创设语言情境,进行口头和笔头的练习。实践证明,学生在这些活动中兴趣盎然,参与的积极性很高,有效培养了学生综合运用语言的能力。
