·stop to do sth 是“停下来开始做某事”,to do是stop的状语,表示目的,是要开始做的事情。

bring back 恢复;使想起;归还
not only ... but (also) ... 表示“不但……而且……”。本句中的not only位于句首,其后的主谓要部分倒装,即根据主语的人称和数以及时态的变化,将不同的助动词提到主语前,需要注意的是but (also)后面的主谓不用倒装。

People are littering in the river, Factories are pouring rubbish into the river. The air has become really polluted around here. There are so many cars on the road these days. More and more people driving to work or school today. Factories that burn coal also pollute the air with a lot of black smoke. There is also too much rubbish and waste around our living places. People throw away rubbish like waste plastic in public places. This turns beautiful places into ugly places.
To cut down environmental pollution, I think we should develop laws to stop factories’ littering. We should take the bus or subway instead of driving. Never take wooden chopsticks or plastic forks when buying takeaway food, remember to throw rubbish in the cans and keep public places clean and beautiful for everyone. I suggest that everyone in this town should play a part in improving the environment. I believe that our actions can make a difference and lead to a better future!
