Unit 2 How often do you exercise?
Section A
本单元的中心话题是谈论休闲时所进行的活动,本节是本单元的第一部分,通过谈论周末进行某项活动的频率,初步学会运用频率副词和目标句型来进行与同伴对话,由于本节的内容与学生的生活息息相关,语言实践性较强,很容易开展话题交流。
【语言目标】
What do you usually do on weekend? I usually play soccer.
How often do you shop? I shop once a month.
What do...? How often...? 引导的特殊疑问句、频度副词。
【能力目标】
1. 能听懂谈论生活习惯和学习习惯的对话材料;
2. 能运用What do...? How often...? 句型及频度副词或短语来谈论生活习惯和学习习惯;
3. 能读懂关于介绍学生生活、学习习惯的文章;
4. 能运用目标语言写关于学习或娱乐的短文。
【情感目标】
通过话题的讨论,从而培养学生学会与人沟通,善于交际、关心别人、融入社会的能力品质。通过相互的调查与讨论,让他们自己得出什么样的英语学习习惯,才是最好的学习讨论方法;什么样的生活习惯,才是最健康的。输送健康概念,从小就培养学生科学健康的世界观和积极进取的人生观。
【教学重点】
以“How often...”句型为引导的话题及词汇:always, usually, often, sometimes, hardly ever,
never, three times a week
2. 以“What do...”句型为引导的日常活动:reading, watch TV, go to the movies, shop, exercise, sleep, drink milk, eat vegetables等
【教学难点】
频率副词(always, usually, often, sometimes, hardly ever, never等)的用法。
教学过程
Step 1. Greetings and Lead-in
1. 谈话引出“What do you usually do on weekends? ” 的话题。
-What do you usually do on weekends?
-I usually do housework/exercise/go to the movies...
2. Do la and think of other activities.
(设计意图:用与学生生活息息相关的图片引出话题,导入新课,完成1a,进一步搜索其他活动,让学生了解本课的内容。)
Step 2. Presentation
Students learn about my activities in order to learn new words and frequency words (always/ often/ usually/ sometimes/ hardly ever/ never).
(设计意图:学生了解教师活动,让学生在自然亲切的语境中学习新的词汇并学会使用频度副词。)
Step 3. Listening
Listening 1b
Learn more about frequency words and know the differences between them.
a. Students listen to 1b and write the activities.
b. Students listen again and fill in the blanks with frequency words.
(设计意图:学生在前面的练习基础上完成1b。通过听力练习,使学生进一步学习和掌握频度副词。)
Practice
Students practice the conversation in 1b and make their own conversations.
(设计意图:学生练习对话并将对话真实化。)
Listening 2a
a. Students listen to 2a. Number the activities [1-5] in the order they hear them.
b. Students listen again and match the activities in 2a with how often Cheng Tao does them?
(设计意图:继续听力练习,进一步熟悉重点句型并培养学生自主归纳的学习能力和习惯。核对听力答案,进一步巩固频度副词的使用。让学生明确任务,根据2c要求进行对话练习。)
Step 4. Practice
Do 2c and work in pairs and try to know how often your partner does those things and get more information.
(设计意图:句型操练,让学生学会使用目标句型进行问答,提高口语交际能力。)
Step 5. Role-play the conversation
Role-play the conversation and answer the questions.

频率副词在句中通常位于情态动词和be动词之后、行为动词之前。如:
I often see her go to school on foot.

She can always get good grades in exams.

He is hardly ever late for work.
他上班几乎不迟到。 Language points三、用法 1. always意为“总是,一直”,这是频率最高的词,表示动作反复,状态持续,不间断。其反义词是never,意为“从不”。如果要变为否定句,应将always改为never才能全部否定。另外,当always与进行时态连用时,常表示“总是”,带有厌烦、不满或赞美等感彩。如: Language pointsLi Ping is always late for school.

她老是问些愚蠢的问题。(厌烦)Language points 2. usually意为“通常”,表示习惯性动作或状态,很少例外。如:
We usually go to school at seven in the morning.
我们通常在早上七点上学。
My mother and I usually go shopping on Sundays.
我和妈妈通常在星期天去买东西。 Language points 3. often意为“经常,时常”,表示反复性的动作或状态,中间有间断。其反义词是hardly ever, 意为“很少,不常”。often在句尾时常被very或quite修饰。如:
The boys often eat noodles and the girls sometimes eat them.

他常给他的朋友写信。 Language points 4. sometimes意为“有时”,表示动作偶尔发生,间隔较长。其位置比较灵活,放在句首、句中、句末都可。如:

I sometimes watch TV in the evening.
我有时晚上看电视。 Language points 5. hardly ever意为“很少,几乎不”,表示否定意义。如:
The little girl hardly ever goes out.
这个小女孩很少外出。
He hardly ever gives his wife a present, does he?
他不常给妻子送礼物,是吗? Language points 6. never意为“从来不,从来没有”,也表示否定意义,它表示从未发生的动作或情况,没有例外。如:
The boys never eat chocolate and the girls seldom eat it.
男生从不吃巧克力,女生很少吃。

迟到(迟做)总比不来(不做)好。 Language points 另外,once a year (每年一次), twice a week (每周两次), three times a day (一天三次), every Saturday afternoon(每星期六下午)等,这些时间状语也表示频率,它们可以和频度副词用在同一个句子中,表达上没有重复。如:
We usually go to the cinema four times a month.
我们通常一个月看四次电影。 Language points 针对上面所说的频度副词和表示“在某段时间内某种动作的次数”的状语提问时,都要用how often。
换句话说,如果要回答由how often提问的句子,我们通常要用频度副词或诸如every day, each week, once a week, twice a day, four times a month等来回答。How often Language points1. -How often do you play football?
