This unit is one of the most important units in the whole textbook. It is talk about the usages of the superlative forms of adjectives and adverbs. Maybe it is a little difficult for students, so the teacher should give more help for students.

教学过程
Step1：warming-up
Do a free talk as usual.
Step 2: Leading-in and presentation
Ask students a question “ how do you choose a movie theater to go to”，Then show some phrases.
Step 3: Listening --1a.1b
Let students read the new phrases three times.
Use some pictures to find the superlative forms, then teaches the rules of superlative forms.
Listen to the tape and finish 1b. Then ask some students answer.
Step 4: Practice--1c & free talk
Ask students to talk about the movie theater using superlatives.
According to the following phrases to ask “what’s the ... in our class?”
Step 5: Listening--2a ,2b
Play the recording, circle the boy’s answers.
Then let some students share their answers.
Play the recording again. Explain the key words of the passage, then check the answers.
Step6: Practice--2c
Ask one student to play as a reporter and ask questions to another. Talk about the best places in the town. And state the reasons.
Step 7: presentation--2d
Listen to the tape, and explain some important phrases.
At the end, ask several pairs of students to role-play the conversation.
Step8: Grammar
Read the grammar box first.
Then help the students find out the main structure of each sentence.
After that, teach the rules of superlative forms.
Step9: Practice--3a
Here are some adjectives and adverbs. Students need to change the forms according to the sentences.
The teacher should allow the students to think for one minute. Then ask them to share the answers.
Step10: Practice--3b, 3c
Ask students to discuss three stores that sell similar things in their town, and write sentences according to the chart. Then ask several groups to share their opinions.
Lead the students to think of three restaurant for lunch near home and fill the chart.
Step11: Consolidation
Discuss these questions with a group. Then let some students share their opinions.
Step12: Homework
Read the sentences in Grammar Focus.
Review the superlative degree of adjectives.

The dog is the best present that I have ever received.这只狗是我收到过的最好的礼物。形容词最高级前通常必须用定冠词 the。
例如：
The Sahara is the biggest desert in the world. 撒哈拉沙漠是世界上最大的沙漠。
形容词most前面没有the，在句中不表示最高级的含义，只表示“非常”。例如：
It is a most important problem.
= It is a very important problem.
这是个很重要的问题。副词的最高级的用法1. 最高级用于三者或三者以上的比较，副词最高级前定冠词the 可以省略，后面可以带of (in) 短语来说明比较的范围。
句型为：“A+ 动词+ (the) + 副词最高级+of (in)…” 例如：
