本单元主要围绕“日常活动”展开。主题图通过展现同一时间人们进行不同活动的场面,将学生带入到谈论日常活动的话题中。 Section A 部分集中呈现了一些家庭日常活动的动词短语,并通过“打电话”的情景对话输入现在进行时的语言结构,训练学生运用该结构来表达和谈论正在发生的事情。这部分重点在于使学生能够很好地使用现在进行时描述人们正在做的事情,学会动词现在分词的构成,并能进行一般疑问句和特殊疑问句的问答。Section B 部分,是教材中的拓展延伸部分,通过谈论活动发生的地点让学生巩固现在进行时的学习和使用。阅读教学部分,通过时差问题引入世界各地不同人们同一时刻进行不同活动的话题,介绍了中国留学生朱辉的故事,展现了他在中国的家和国外寄宿家庭的生活场面,语篇创设的情境自然真实,不仅介绍了中国传统节日-端午节,还让学生领略到中西方不同的文化习俗。

利用英语歌曲导入主要语言结构,充分利用多媒体课件资源,让学生在形象生动地情境中学习英语,有图有声音;在课程内容的讲授中,学生的听说由易到难,训练有素,大部分学生积极参与到听说中,充分体现出他们的主体地位,很好地完成学习任务。而且,课堂中,学生的参与面广,频度高。师生间的配合默契。教师的评价奖励大大增强了学生们学习英语的兴趣。
《Unit 8 I’m watching TV.》Section B 1a-2a 教学设计
一,教学目标:
1.学习使用现在进行时进行问答,进一步谈论动作发生的地点。
2.听说练习,学生获得信息,并能使用信息进行问答。
二,知识重难点:
1. 重点词汇:pool,supermarket,shop, man ,shopping,swimming,play basketball, at school, at the supermarket,in a pool, in a swimming pool
2.重点句型:
-Is the man swimming in a river? -No, he isn’t . He’s swimming in a pool.
-What’s the man doing? -He’s swimming .
-Where’s he swimming ? - In a pool.
-What time is it in Beijing? -It’s eight o’clock in the morning
3.课前准备:Let the students write down the key words and expressions on the papers. Then ask them to read the knowledge we’ve learnt in Section A.
三,教学过程
Step1: Warming up
Sing the song : Happy New Year.“Happy New Year, happy New Year ,happy New Year to you all. We’re singing ,we’re dancing ,happy New Year to you all.” Show them two sentences “ We’re sing . We’re dancing.”
Step2:Revision(Speaking practice one )
Use the present progressive to describe the pictures:
陈述句: People are shopping now.
一般疑问句: -Are people shopping now? -Yes, they are.
特殊疑问句: -What are people doing now? - They’re shopping.
Ask some of the students to make their own sentences and say them out to us.(The students who do the right work can get two points and get the cheers from us.)
Step2: Games
Here are three boxes on the desk ,one is about people ,another is about activities, the third is about places.Three students come here and choose the notes out of the box, and the fourth student makes a sentence by using the information and the present progressive tense.( He ,the student who is right can win two points.) We will play it in five groups.(For example: Joe is shopping at the pool.The students may make the funny sentences like this ,then the teacher draws a funny face there.Also ,the students may make the right sentences . Then ,they’re lucky. That’s bingo.)[This game is to lead in to the places where people are doing something.]
Step 3:Speaking practice two: (Answer the questions according to the pictures.)
First ,let the students look at the picture, and try to answer these questions
(1)-What’s the old man doing? - He’s reading newspapers.
-Where’s he reading? -In the living-room.
(2)-What are the students doing? -They’re writing.
- Where are they writing? - In the classroom.(After the student, ask the other students to read the conversations.)
Step 4: Pair work:(Speaking practice three)
Ask the students to practice these conversations according to the pictures in pairs.-What are people doing? -Where are they doing? About five minutes later, ask the students to act out the conversations one by one.Then ,choose some other pairs of students to act out .(In the exercise , I want most of the students to try to stand up to act out the conversations.)
Then let’s open our books and turn to page 46, and complete the chart ,match the activities with the places.It takes about three minutes. After that, ask some students to correct the answers.(Attention:People usually do something at the right places.We should do like this.)
Now it’s time for us to practice listening.
Step 5: Listen and complete the conversations.
Ask the students to complete the conversations while listening to the recording.Then ask some students to read the conversation and correct the answers .After that, ask the students to read these conversations togeter.(Try to understand the meaning of the conversations.) Then , listen again ,and complete the chart about Aice, Mike and Lisa.

Step 6: Summary:

Step 7: Preview:
Our world is very large. There’re about two hundred countries in the world. Do you know that the time is different in different places.Now it’s eight o’clock in Beijing ,but it’s nine o’clock in Tokyo. But what time is it in New York? In Sydney?
Step 8:Homework:
Make a new dialogue by yourself using the present progressive tense and write it down.
Find out the differences of the time in Beijing, Tokyo, New York and Sydney.
Step 9:Exercise in class.
Give them about five minutes to do the exercises.Then ask them to hand in their papers.
The last ,find out who are the winners . Then show the winners our congratulations. Yes, every one of the students are on their way in class.
