Section B needs 1 period.
The main activities are 1a and 3.
一. Aims and demands
1. Knowledge goals:
1). Learn some new words:
warn, motorcycle, trouble
2). Go on learning the usages of adverbial clauses of condition:
If we ride at night, we should have lights on the bicycle or wear light-colored clothes.
If we break the traffic rules, we will get a fine and even be in danger.
2. Ability goals:
Learn more traffic rules, signs and warnings.
3. Emotion goals:
Ask the students follow the traffic rules and set up the safe realization.

五. Teaching procedure
Step 1 Review
Review Section A , then lead to the new Section.
1. T: We’ve learnt lots of advantages in riding bicycles in Section A. Let’s review it.
S1: It saves money and energy. It doesn’t cause air pollution.

T: Well done! Boys and girls! But are there any disadvantages in riding bicycles

T: Please tell us.

2. T: According to Section A , we have learnt that what should we do to avoid the traffic accidents.

T: I’m very happy you made so many good suggestions. And I think there may be more suggestions. Do you want to know Let’s learn 1a. You’ll get them.
3. Before we learn 1a , let students speak out the traffic rule , learn the traffic signs and finish 1b.At the same time, let students know the traffic signs as many as possible.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Listen to 1a,then answer questions.
T: Why did the bike accident happen What’s Kangkang’s suggestion Does Michael agree with Kangkang
2 .T: Now Let’s read 1a after the tape . At the same time , and find out the adverbial clauses of condition and difficulties.
If we break the traffic rules , we will get a fine and even be in danger.
If we ride at night,we should have lights on the bicycle or wear light colored clothes.
3.Present the traffic signs in 1b.Teach the new words. Let the studdents master “warn” and understand “crossing”.
4. Let the studdents listen fill in the blanks or draw the traffic signs.Check the answers. Finish 1b.
Step 3 Consolidation
1. Go on learning the usages of adverbial clause of condition.
1. Let students finish 2 alone.
For example , If you ride your bikes at night, you’d better wear bicycle helmets.
Step 4 Practice
1. Let students look at pictures in 3. Discuss the result of breaking the
traffic rules in group, pay attention to the given expressions.
2. Then sum up the usages of adverbial clause of condition.
3. Let students go through the sentences in 4 ,Get ready for listening.Listen to the tape of 4 , and fill in the blanks, then the teacher check the answers.
Step 5 Project and Homework:
1.Think about the signs in the school and record them . Learn about what we should do ,and what we shouldn’t do at school.
2.Recite new words.
3.Finish the EX of Section B in the textbook.
