通过本节的学习,让学生知道如何接受及礼貌的拒绝别人的邀请。这会培养学生良好的言行举止。

教学过程
Step1. Warm up
Greet the class as usual and check the homework.
Step2. Presentation
1.1a
First let Ss look at the days of the week at the top of the calendar in the book. Then display a current wall calendar and ask a student to point out today’s date.
Point to the numbers showing the dates of the current week and ask Ss to copy these numbers into the calendar in their books.
Then ask different Ss to read each day’s date to the class.
2.1b
Ask Ss to write these words below the correct dates on the calendar in 1a.
3.1c
First, ask two Ss to read the dialogue in the speech bubble. Then have Ss work in pairs to make conversations.
After they finish their practicing, point to different dates at random on the wall calendar and ask different Ss to speak out the dates.

Play the tape and ask Ss to finish this part. Then check the answers.

Play it again and ask Ss to match the activities with the days. Finally, check the answers.

Give Ss two minutes to make a list of the kinds of parties people have .Later, invite some Ss to present their answers.

First, lead Ss to read the instruction to know what to do in this activity and how to do it.
Then, give Ss several minutes to read the messages and think about the question why the people wrote the messages. Ask them to underline some difficult language points as reading.
After they finish reading, invite three Ss to read each message and speak out the intention to write the message.
Lead Ss to read the messages together, call attention to the pronunciation and tone. Explain some key words and expressions.
Step3. Practice

Ask Ss to read the message again and answer the questions individually. Later, check the answers.

Ask Ss to complete the invitation with words and phrases from the messages on Page69.Give Ss several minutes to do it. Then check the answers.
3.2e
Divide Ss into pairs to plan a farewell party for their favorite teacher’s leaving.They can talk about it using the given questions.
Finally, invite several pairs to present their plans to see which party is more surprising and interesting.
Step4. Consolidation

First, ask Ss to read the message to get the main idea and think about the answers to the questions.
Give them several minutes to read and think about the questions. Then, invite some Ss to answer questions.
2.3b
Give Ss enough time to write an invitation. Tell them they can take the messages in 2b and 3a as examples.
Later, invite several Ss to present their work. Choose the best written ones and praise the Ss.
