Step 1 Warming up and Revision
1. Greetings.
T: Hello, boys and girls!
Ss: Hi, Mr. Chen!
T: How are you?
Ss: Good. And you？
T: I’m fine. Thanks!
2. Look and say.
T: Boys and girls, we have learned some holidays before. What holiday is it? (儿童节的图片)
Ss: Children’s Day.
T: Good. How about this one?

教师利用PPT引导学生复习已学过的节日Children’s Day，New Year’s Day，Teachers’ Day, National Day, Spring Festival。
Step 2 Presentation and Practice
1. T: In Western countries, there is a special holiday. What is it? (出示圣诞节图片)
Ss: 圣诞节。
T: Yes, it’s Christmas. Today we will learn “Christmas is coming”. (板书)
引导学生自己说出首字母需大写，字母“t”没有发音等注意事项。
T: Do you know something about Christmas?
Ss: 学生自由说说知道关于圣诞节的信息。
2. 播放录音一次，回答下列问题：
Q1: What’s Christmas?
Q2: Will people go to work? Will children go to school?
学生听音后回答Q1，Q2。
2. 学生阅读文章，划出问题：What do people have at Christmas? 的答案
T: What do people have at Christmas?
Ss: People have Christmas trees, lights and Santa.
3. 结合图片和实物教学Christmas tree, lights, Santa。
T: Look! What’s this?
Ss: 圣诞树。/ Christmas tree.
T: This is a Christmas tree. It’s so beautiful!
Ss: This is a Christmas tree. It’s so beautiful!
教师板书并带读，学生跟读。
T: What’s on the Christmas tree?
Ss: 彩灯。
T: They are Christmas lights.

T: Yes. At Christmas, there are many Christmas lights on people’s house.
T: Look! Who is he? （圣诞老人图片）
Ss: 圣诞老人。
T: He is Santa. We can call him Father Christmas, too.
教师板书并带读，学生跟读。
T: What is he wearing?
Ss: He is in red hat and red clothes.
T: Do you love Santa? Why?
Ss: Yes. Santa brings gifts on Christmas. (板书、领读)
4. 学生读文章，回答What do people do at Christmas?
教师讲解bring，give, have fun的用法。
5. T: In Spring Festerval, we say “Happy New Year!” to each other. How about On Christmas? 引导学生在文中找出答案。
Ss: Merry Christmas!
6. T: We can do so many things on Christmas. I’m excited. When is Christmas? (让学生读文章，找出答案)
Ss: It’s December 25th.
7. 听录音，跟读。
Step 3 Consolidation
1. Let’s do it.
A、学生独立完成课文练习；B、教师个别提问来核对答案； C、分角色读对话。
2. Sing a song.
教师播放歌曲“We wish you a merry Christmas!”，师生一起学唱。
Step 4 Extension
Make a dialogue (编对话).
1. 教师提供语言框架，并示范。学生以四人小组的形式完成对话编写。最后抽查几组学生。

反思：
本课时的教学目标是学生能够听、说、读、写holiday，Christmas tree，Christmas lights，Santa。学生能够听懂、会说：Merry Christmas! We have fun together! 并在真实的交际环境中使用。运用任务型教学法，设计不同的任务帮助学生理解课文，突破重难点，达到了预期的教学目标。同时本课时注重渗透东西方节日的文化差异，扩展了学生的视野。
但部分学生没能掌握四会单词和句型。在扩展的知识部分，有的学生没有理解教师的示，没有很好地编写和表演对话。
