2.了解他国的文化,增强对本国文化的理解,提高跨文化交际的能力。
3.学生能就故事进行提问和回答。
4.能运用下列基本的句型结构:

… speak English/Chinese…
5.学生能用自己的语言复述和表演这个故事。
二、教学重、难点分析
重点:
1.复习本单元所学的单词、短语和句型。
2.通过阅读故事,巩固本单元所学过的单词。
3.学会使用以下短语:want to do,in Canada,like to do…,the capital city of …,have tea with,at the palace.
难点:
1. 一些及物动词在一般现在进行时中的正确使用。
2. 句型:What do they speak?
Where do they live?
What do they like to do?
三、教学准备:多媒体课件,本单元学过的各个国家的国旗。
四、教学方法:
多媒体教学法,讲授法,小组合作学习法。
五、教学步骤和建议
(一)Warming-up
1.师生问好:
T: Good morning class. It is 8 o’clock. Let’s begin our class.
S: Good morning teacher.
把中国、加拿大、美国、英国和澳大利亚的国旗排成一行,让学生到前面来,按照教师说出的国家名称触摸国旗,例如:Touch the flag of the U.K. …
What do they speak in this country?
What is the capital city of this country?
(设计思路:复习本单元学过的知识。为本课的学习打下基础。)
2.PPT2
在PPT上出示一张世界地图,然后出示句子:I want to... 然后点击音频,师生共唱歌谣开始本节课:
I want to go to London in the U.K.
I can see the queen and Big Ben along the way.
I want to go to Australia to see the kangaroo.
I want to go there to see a koala bear,too.
I want to go to the U.S. to see the Statue of Liberty.
I want to see the White House in Washington,D.C.
I want to go to Canada to visit my friend.
I want to see the CN Tower and Niagara Falls.
I live in China. Here we speak Chinese.
Go to Beijing to see Tian’anmen Square,please.
(设计思路:通过这首歌曲,重新复习了本单元各个国家著名的地点以及名胜,带学生进入了英语的学习氛围。)
(二)Presentation
1.PPT3-PPT8认读本课的单词及与之相关联的句子。
(1)PPT3
出示一面挂有很多照片的墙,然后出示photo这个单词,解释它的汉语意思,再领学生认读这个单词。
(2)PPT4
教师出示PPT4,出示和photo有关的句子:Do you want to see my family photos? 解释它的意思为:你想看我的家庭照片吗?
(3)PPT5
教师出示PPT5,出示different这个单词的动态图片,解释它的汉语意思为:不同的,再领学生认读这个单词。
(4)PPT6
教师出示PPT6,出示句子:My family lives in many different countries. 解释它的意思为:我的家人居住在很多不同的国家。
(5)PPT7
教师出示PPT7,出示一个动态图片,再出示great这个单词,解释它的意思为:极好的,伟大的,再领学生认读这个单词。
(6)PPT8
教师出示PPT8,出示句子:It is great! 解释它的意思为:它是伟大的。
(设计思路:教师通过图片来学习新单词及与其相关的句型,将抽象的单词变得具体,调动起学生学习的积极性,提高了学生的语言实践能力。)
2. PPT9-PPT15学习课文内容。
让学生把书翻到第30页,告诉他们这个故事是关于Maddy和她的家庭照片的。Maddy的许多家庭成员生活在世界各地。她把自己的家庭照片带来让大家看。现在,看图片,看看学生能在每幅图片中发现什么。教师用相关的一组问答题引导,以此帮助学生:
Who do you see in panel 1?
What country is the flag in panel 2 for?
指着国旗上的树叶,问:What is this?
What do they speak in Canada?
Where is the monster in panel 3?
Where is the monster in panel 4?
What is the monster standing in front of in panel 5?
Who is the monster talking to in panel 6? What are they doing?
Where is the monster in panel 7?

(设计思路:这样做是为了让学生在真正开始读故事之前,了解故事的一些内容。)
(1)出示PPT9,展示课文第一幅图片,让学生自读课文,然后出示问题:

学生回答后展示参考答案:She is Maddy.
T: Yes,she is Maddy. Her family lives in many different countries. She wants to know if you want to see her photos. Do you want to see them?
(2)出示PPT10,展示课文第二幅图片,让学生自读课文,然后出示问题:
Where does Maddy live?
学生回答后展示参考答案:She lives in Canada.
第二个问题:What does she speak?
学生回答后展示参考答案:She speaks English and French.
(3)出示PPT11,展示课文第三幅图片,让学生自读课文,然后出示问题:
Where is she?
学生回答后展示参考答案:She is at Niagara Falls.
(4)出示PPT12,展示课文第四幅图片,让学生自读课文,然后出示问题:
Who is she?
学生回答后展示参考答案:She is Maddy’s cousin.
第二个问题:Where does she live?
学生回答后展示参考答案:She lives in China.
然后教师进行补充:She likes to go to the Great Wall.
(5)出示PPT13,展示课文第五幅图片,让学生自读课文,然后出示问题:
Where does Maddy’s grandfather live?
学生回答后展示参考答案:He lives in the U.S.
第二个问题:What does he like to do?
学生回答后展示参考答案:He likes to see the Statue of Liberty.
(6)出示PPT14,展示课文第六幅图片,让学生自读课文,然后出示问题:

学生回答后展示参考答案: She lives in the U.S.
(7)出示PPT15,展示课文第七幅图片,让学生自读课文,然后出示问题:

学生回答后展示参考答案:He lives in Australia.

学生回答后展示参考答案:By kangaroo,ha ha.
