（一）Warming-up
1.师生问好：
T: Good morning class. It is 8 o’clock. Let’s begin our class.
S: Good morning teacher.
找12名学生到前面来，每名学生站好后，教师说出这名学生的名字，然后让学生回答：_____ is the __________.
（设计思路：复习第一—十二这12个序数词。）
2.PPT2
在PPT上出示歌曲的名字：《十二生肖歌》，然后播放视频，让学生欣赏这首歌。
T：Why do not cats and rats like each other? Long age，the rat played a terrible trick on the dat. And the cat has never forgotten. Let’s find out what happened.
（设计思路：通过这首歌曲，带学生进入了英语的学习氛围。同时教师用语言引入本课内容。）
（二）Presentation
1.PPT3-PPT10认读本课的单词及与之相关联的句子。
（1）PPT3
出示一张人们围坐开会的图片，然后出示meeting这个单词，解释它的汉语意思，再领学生认读这个单词。
（2）PPT4
教师出示PPT4，出示和meeting有关的句子：We will have a meeting on January 12 in the morning. 并解释它的意思为：我们将在1月12日上午开一个会议。
（3）PPT5
教师出示PPT5，出示道路的一张图片，然后出示way这个单词，解释它的汉语意思为：道路，再领学生认读这个单词。
（4）PPT6
教师出示PPT6，出示课文中和way有关的句子：On his way to the meeting，he meets the rat. 解释它的意思为：在他去参加会议的路上，他遇到了老鼠。
（5）PPT7
教师出示PPT7，出示order这个单词，解释它的意思为：顺序，再领学生认读这个单词。
（6）PPT8
教师出示PPT8，出示和order有关的句子：Here’s the order of the years. 解释它的意思为：这是年的顺序。
（7）PPT9
教师出示PPT9，出示课文中难以理解的句子：Everyone wants to be the first. 解释它的意思为：每个人都想成为第一。并强调everyone作不定代词，意为：每人，每个人，是第三人称单数形式，故它后面的动词用第三人称单数形式wants.
（8）PPT10
教师出示PPT10，出示课文中难以理解的句子：He arrives at the meeting first. 解释它的意思为：他第一个到达会议。同时强调arrive at后面跟小地点，arrive in后面跟大地点。。
（设计思路：教师通过图片来学习新单词及与其相关的句型，将抽象的单词变得具体，调动起学生学习的积极性，提高了学生的语言实践能力。）
2. PPT11-PPT19学习课文内容。
让学生把书翻到第66页，先看图片，看学生能根据图片说出什么，他们应该能够识别这些动物。然后让学生猜测故事内容。
（设计思路：这样做是为了让学生在真正开始读故事之前，了解故事的一些内容。）
（1）出示PPT11，展示课文第一幅图片，指出狮王。他要召开一次会议（让每个动物都参加），他想给年命名。他让老鼠帮助他去告诉大家开会的时间，以最早到达的动物给每一年命名。然后出示问题：
When will the meeting be?
学生回答后展示参考答案：On January 12 in the morning.
（2）出示PPT12，展示课文第二幅图片，让学生自读课文，然后出示问题：
What is the rat thinking?
学生回答后展示参考答案：How can I be the first?
（3）出示PPT13，展示课文第三幅图片，让学生自读课文，然后出示问题：

学生回答后展示参考答案：Is the meeting on January 12？

（8）出示PPT18，展示课文第八幅图片，让学生自读课文。然后出示问题：

（9）出示PPT19，展示课文第九幅图片，让学生自读课文。然后出示问题：
How does the cat feel?
学生回答后展示参考答案：He is very angry. He wants to eat the rat.

3.出示本课视频。
教师出示PPT20，让学生跟读。
4.教师大声朗读故事，让学生再次跟读。读的时候可以停顿，问一些问题，确保学生理解故事的大部分内容。

教师出示PPT21，对学生就本课内容进行综合提问，然后让学生试着表演这个故事。
