一、教材分析
人教版八年级上Unit3 I`m more outing than my sister其主要的内容是:“Talk about personal traits and how to compare people.”一话题。由于本单元具有两部分:SectionA和SectionB,?从教材的整合来说本堂课内容即有形容词用法的延续,又为后面形容词最高级的学习打下基础,具有承上启下的作用;再则,从本单元来说它既是本单元的基本语言内容,又为本单元知识扩展和综合语言运用奠定坚实的基础。因此,上好SectionA的前部分,既可让知识学习具有一定的延续性,又可为下面的教学做好铺垫,对完成本单元和今后的英语教学具有重要的意义。
二、教学目标:

三、教学重难点

四、教学方法
为了更好地突出重点,突破难点,我主要采用了:
1.任务型教学法:新课标倡导的“玩中学,学中玩”的理念也很受学生欢迎。本节课设置一系列的活动让学生参与其中,极大的提高了教学效率。
2.情景交际法:情景交际教学法,是尽量给学生以足够的听、说、读的机会,联系课本实际,创设情境,引入讨论主题,在交际中学英语。初二上学期的学生经过一年多的学习,有了一定的英语基础知识和听说能力,正逐渐向读、写过渡,而本节课谈论的正是学生喜欢并且关注的话题,学生较易融入。
五、教学过程
Step 1 Greeting and Lead-in
1. Introduce one of my friends to the students and let the students guess. Then ask one of the students to point it.
T: There are so many teachers here today. And one of them is my good friend. Can you guess? Please listen to me carefully and try to find who is she? (She is thin. She is tall. Her face is round……)
2. Ask one student to talk about her friend. Then teach the new words: outgoing, better, loudly, quietly, hard-working
Step 2 presentation
1. Work on 1a.
Now look at the words in the box in 1a. Match each word with its opposite. (Answer the question NO.4 in each group)
2. Show a picture of two students and compare them.
Teach comparative forms of adjectives and adverbs.(short—shorter)
Ask the students to practice in pairs.
3. Chant
Tall, taller.

Thin, thinner.

Step 3 practice
Talk about the differences.
Let’s have a look at these twins. Look carefully, and then let’s play a game. Please find the differences.
Work on 1b. Listen and number the pairs of twins in the picture. Then check the answers.
Listen again and try to fill in the blanks.(NO.3 in each group)

六、板书设计
六、教学反思
1、本节课上下来,课堂效果还是不错的,不论是从教学环节的设计还是学生反应的配合,都是比较顺利。本课以素质教育为目的,结合教材重点、难点及英语学科特点,利用多媒体辅助教学,从视、听、说等方面使学生得到锻炼,在愉快、轻松的氛围中温故而知新,达到初步运用英语交际的能力。本课时利用多媒体设备辅助教学,提高了课堂教学的效率;充分调动了学生自主学习的积极性;培养了学生运用所学知识解决问题的能力;对学生的思维发展起到了积极的推动作用;同时,也提高了学生的英语综合运用能力。
2、虽然这节课不同的学生都有所收获,但是从教学效果反馈来看一些环节对有些学生还是没有达到最佳效果。在猜猜他/她是谁环节,有个别学生还是用不好比较级,部分双音节词和多音节词在前面加more及不规则变化掌握不好,所以讲解这一知识点时应多加练习。
