本课时是四年级下册第五单元第一课时对话课，对话课的教学目标是让学生能够理解对话大意，并能够运用正确的语音语调朗读对话，能够在情景中恰当运用重点句型。主要内容是学习词汇yours和hat，以及学习运用核心句型Are these yours? No, they aren't. Is this John's? No, it isn't. 确认某物是谁的，并能在情景中恰当运用句型It’s Mike’s. They’re Chen Jie’s.表述某物是谁的。在前一单元，学生已经学习过涉及名词单复数的一般疑问句的表达：Are these / those…?教师在教学时可以利用真实的语境和教材中的人物、图片等情景展开教学，在教学中建议采取读图和观看视频的方式处理重点单词和句型。
本课设计的教学活动有以下特点：利用文本对话语境呈现新知，让学生在对话情境中理解语言，首先通过图片，让学生观察图片上的人物是谁，在哪里，上什么课，呈现本课情境，引出本节课主句型：“Are these yours? No, they aren't. Is this John's? No, it isn't.”然后再通过带着问题观看视频，引入重点句型Whose coat is this?以及答语It’s mine.的学习,紧接着通过Sam的问题引入处理了Whose pants are those? They are your father’s.最后通过回顾文本，梳理知识处理情境语You are funny. 尽可能设置学生学习和生活的场景，采用灵活多样的教学方法来吸引学生的注意，让学生能在实际的情景中运用以上句型描述他人或自己的衣物。
