·What pattern does a five-line? poem follow? Look at the poem on the right. It has five lines of text. This style was created in the nineteenth century? by an American poet. This kind of poem always talks about a single? topic. Each? line has a set number of? words. The first line has one word. The second line has two words. The third,or middle line
has three words. The fourth line has four words. The last
line has one word.

Sunshine! Here is how you can write your own five-line poem.
Line 1:In one word,state? the topic of your poem.
Use a noun.
Line 2:Describe your topic in two words. Use a noun
and an adjective or two adjectives.
Line 3:Choose three words that describe what your
topic does.
Line 4:Express? a thought or a feeling about your
topic in four words. You can use any type of
words here.
Line 5:Say something about your topic in one word. five-line五行的考向five-line是一个复合形容词,由“数词+连字符
+单数名词”构成。常见的复合形容词的结构
还有:(1)“数词+连字符+单位词(单数)+连
字符+形容词”。
eg:two-meter-deep 两米深的。知识点1(2)“形容词+连字符+名词-ed”。
eg:warm-hearted 热心肠的。复合形容词的共同
特点:作定语,修饰后面的名词。
eg:They are all warm-hearted people.
他们都是热心肠的人。

C.19-year-olds【点拨】“数词+连字符+year+连字符+old”构成复合形容词,修饰后面的名词,故选B。B in the nineteenth century在19世纪考向表示“在几世纪”时,用“in+the+序数词+century”。也可写作in the 1900s, 相当于during the nineteenth century。

world population had passed six billion.【点拨】本题考查世纪的表达方法。句意:到20世纪末, 世界的人口已经超过60亿。表示世纪要用序数词,twenty 的序数词为 twentieth。twentieth single/'s??ɡl/ adj.单一的,单个的考向知识点3a single+单数可数名词,表示“仅有一个……”。
eg:There was not a single person in the house.
房子里一个人都没有。拓展single 作形容词时,还可表示“单身的,单程的”。
eg:How much is the single ticket to Beijing?
去北京的单程票多少钱? each/i?t?/ adj. & pron.每个考向知识点4each与every的辨析eg: Each student has a new dictionary.
每个学生都有一本新词典。典例She cut the cake into pieces and gave a piece of cake to______ the children. They liked it very much.
A.each B.each of C.every D.every of【点拨】考查each 与every 的辨析。运用分析句子结构法。句意:她把蛋糕切成块并分给每个孩子一块蛋糕。孩子们都很喜欢。空后的children是复数,排除AC。every不能与介词of 连用,所以选项B 正确。B温馨提示:each不能与almost, nearly 或not连用。
而 every可与almost, nearly 或not连用。 a set number of 一定数量的考向知识点5eg:There are a set number of students in each class.
每个班都有一定数量的学生。辨析 a number of和 the number of 一言辨异:A number of friends came to his birthday
party. The number of them was over eighty.
许多朋友都参加了他的生日聚会,其人数超过了
