Pre-task preparations
Activity 1
Show the flashcards to the students and say one, two, three and so on.
Activity 2
Count the common classroom items and make sentences.
While-task procedures
Activity 1
Ask the students to say and act according to your instructions.
e.g. Show me one finger.
Activity 2
Ask all the students to repeat this chant after me.
e.g. One, one, one pencil.
Two, two, two rulers.
Activity 3
Show common classroom items to the students and ask them to tell how many there are as quickly as possible.
Post-task activities
Activity 1
Ask the students to do “ “Listen and tick” on Workbook page 34 and then choose several students to check the answers.
Activity 2
Ask the students to do “Listen and write” on Workbook page 35. Then choose several students to check the answers..
Activity 3
Ask students to count common classroom items in pairs.

Pre-task preparations
Activity 1
Elicit the new sentence pattern How many…?
Activity 2
Play the recording and ask the students to sing the song “Ten little paper rabbits”. Then ask the students some question about the song.
Activity 3
Show some fingers to the students. Have them count how many fingers they see.
While-task procedures
Activity 1
Show some common classroom items to the students and ask them to repeat.
Activity 2
Have the students say the numbers from seven to ten after me.
Activity 3
Have the students learn this chant.
e.g. How many, how many, how many rulers?
Three, three, three three rulers.
Activity 4
Ask the students to come to the front of the classroom and close his/her eyes. Put some common classroom items in a box and shake it. Have the other students in the front of the classroom listen and guess.
Post-task activities
Activity 1
Ask the students to do “Look, count and circle” and “Listen and check” on Workbook page 36. Ask some students to act out the dialogue.
Activity 2
Ask the students to do “Look, listen and answer” on Workbook page 35. Then have the students ask and answers in pairs.
Activity 3
Have the students do Task “Count the things in your pencil case” on Workbook page 37 in pairs. The students can substitute the words in the exercise with other words.
