【教学目标】
1. 能在语境中正确运用本单元的核心词组,复习已学相关核心词汇。
2. 能简单介绍复活节、万圣节、感恩节和圣诞节,包括节日日期和主要的活动等。
3. 了解英语中的连读现象,并在朗读或说话时正确处理需要连读的音。
4. 了解西方主要节日风俗文化。

Pre-task preparations

3. 再次播放课文录音,请学生逐句跟读,鼓励学生尽量模仿录音中人物的语音语调。

一、教学目标(Teaching aims)
1. 通过Sing a song活跃课堂气氛,感受语言韵律。
2. 通过Make and say复习巩固相关语言知识。
3. 通过Learn the sounds,帮助学生了解英语中的连读现象。
二、教学重难点(Teaching points and difficulties)
1. 句型复习:At Halloween, people make jack-o’-lanterns.
2. 语音学习:连读。

Pre-task preparations
1. 把全班同学分成两大组,出示一段描述节日的语段给第一组学生看(第二组的学生不能看),请第一组的学生用英文大声朗读,再请第二组的学生猜猜是什么节日。答对得一分。然后两队交换角色。得分最多的小组获胜。
This Western festival comes in December. It’s the most important festival in many Western countries.
People often have a big family dinner together. They presents to their family and friends. What festival is it?
2. 播放Sing a song的歌曲,让学生跟唱。
While-task procedures
1. 教师提问刚才播放的歌曲与哪个西方节日有关,巩固与圣诞节有关的知识。
T: At which festival do people sing this song?
Ss: Christmas!
然后和学生头脑风暴,让学生写一写关于圣诞节可以想到哪些?
让学生根据思维导图用一段话描述一下圣诞节。
S: Christmas is on 25th December. At Christmas, people have dinner together with their family and give cards and presents to each other. They have a Christmas tree at home. They put bells and a star on the Christmas tree. They say “Merry Christmas” to each other.
2. 可用同样方式复习复活节和感恩节。根据学生的情况,教师可适当补充相关背景知识。
3. 请学生出示课后根据Make and say完成的作业南瓜灯,说说自己是怎么做的。
S1: I made my jack-o’-lantern with an orange. I cut out a face first. Then I cut out a circle and took out the inside. Next, I put a candle inside. This is my jack-o’- lantern. It’s lovely!
然后让学生提着自制的南瓜灯,边在教室内走动边齐读下面的儿歌。

4. 出示Learn the sounds栏目的词组,慢慢朗读这些词组,让学生根据教师的朗读猜猜词组上方的线条表示什么,然后向学生解释英语中的连读现象(见“参考资料”),教师不必详细解释规则,只让学生了解这一现象即可,然后通过大声朗读掌握连读的发音规律。

播放Learn the sounds的录音,学生跟读,再把这些词组放入合适的句子中,让学生读句子。

2. 让学生讲述或展示这四个节日的相关故事及资料,和同学分享。

连读:说英语或朗读英语的时候,不同单词的音节有时会跨越单词与单词的界限二连起来,或者组成新的音节,或者互相紧密依靠,使原有的音节产生某些新的特征,这种现象就是连读。英语中主要的连读现象如下:
1) 前面单词末尾的辅音与紧随其后的单词开头的元音连读,组合成新的音节。如:
a lot^of apples
open^it
bread^and milk
2) 前面单词末尾的辅音与后面单词开头的辅音相同,这时只发一个音。如:
want^to
last^me
Miss^Smith
get^to
3) 前面单词以r结尾,后面单词以元音开头,这时产生一个r音节。如:
there^are
here^is
英语中的连读现象很普遍,掌握连读技巧有助于学生提高听力和会话技能。

1. 和学生做“快速反应”游戏。出示各个西方节日的图片,学生马上说出对应的名称。
2. 播放Sing a song的视频或录音,学生跟着录音唱歌,活跃课堂气氛。
While-task procedures
1. 用多媒体或教学图片出示Read a story的图片1,让学生阅读文字,然后回答问题。

然后让学生阅读第二至第五段,填空完成下面的段落。
It was Christmas Eve. Father Christmas was on his way to give presents to the children. Rudolf and his friends helped Father Christmas. The weather was bad. Rudolf’s nose was bright. He took Father Christmas to the children.
出示图片6,让学生猜猜Rudolf的朋友们在说什么以及Rudolf会说什么。让学生读课文,看看谁的猜测更接近故事原文。然后把学生分成两大组,分别模仿Rudolf和他的朋友们,大声对话。2·1·c·n·j·y

2. 播放故事视频或音频,让学生观看动画或听录音,提出自己不懂的句子或单词,教师给予讲解。让学生完成Read a story的后续练习,然后全班核对答案。
3. 通过引导性问题和学生讨论故事蕴含的道理。最后的结论可以让学生用中文表达。

T: Why?

4. 把学生分成五人小组,分配角色,分角色朗读课本剧,为表演做准备。

1. 学生分组演出课本剧,全体学生评出最佳表演奖、最佳演员以及最佳语音奖。
2. 在前一课时留作业,让学生课后完成《练习册》Task第一部分的Think and write的表格。完成此作业可能需要家长的帮助,查阅农历日历以及参考网上信息。本课时让学生在教室内自由走动,参考Ask and answer中的提示问题和同学交流信息。然后学生独立完成最后的Think and write的写作任务。
