【教学重点】
1. 情态动词could如何表达建议;
2. 正确使用有关援助的表述、动词短语以及相关表达中的动词不定式。

教学过程
Step 1. Greetings and Lead-in
Asking questions “Who are they? (Volunteers)”, “What are they doing? (They are sweeping our school.)” Let them answer the questions according to the picture.
(设计意图:通过呈现一幅我校志愿服务社志愿者们清扫校园的图片,引导出我校志愿服务社。由于我校志愿服务社是学生们比较熟悉的,所以学生们可以很快融入课堂中,激发学习兴趣。)
Step 2. Presentation
Presenting the symbol of Chinese Young Volunteers Association. And introduce the association to the students. By asking the question, “What do the volunteers usually do?” Present the new words and phrases.
(设计意图:通过图片展示中国青年志愿服务机构的图标,介绍该机构和图标,并提问我校志愿者们经常做什么? 让学生通过图片来回答。真实的图片使学生们较容易语言输出,并在此过程中教授新单词和词组,加深印象。)
Step 3. Practice
Work on 1a.
(设计意图:通过练习1a,罗列援助行为,增加词汇量。)
Step 4. Listening 1b
Listen and number the ways the boy and girl could help others. Then students listen to the conversations and number the ways.
Step 5. Language points and grammar focus
The usage of cheer up, give out, volunteer and so on.
Step 6. Pair work
Students work in pairs. Show students some pictures, and make a dialogue using “could” to offer help.

Step 7. Listening 2a.
Listen and check the things they are going to do to tell people about it.
Listen again and fill in the blanks.
Step 8. Group work
Read the dialogue in 2d and think of more ways to help the old.
Work in groups and make a plan for it . If you can make a poster , it will be better.
Report your plan and show your poster.
