二、完形填空(10分)
Like many people, I enjoy science fiction(小说).I love reading about brave travelers 1 visit far-awayworlds. The stories are not true, but I still think it is great to 2 the night sky and imagine the world to one star.
I can imagine 3 my parents felt when Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon. Until that day in 1969, humans had always looked at the moon 4 never reached it. Our ancestors(祖先)told stories about the moon goddesses(女神), such as Selene and Chang'e. The goddesses lived in a place that humans could never visit. After 5 of years, we did something unbelievable. If human beings can walk on the moon, then surely we can do 6 more!
Some people say, "Human's destiny(命运)is in the stars." 7 , the most important thing humans will do in the future is to travel into outer space. I believe that this will come true in the future, and we must prepare. We travel to the moon today, and 8 we can travel to Mars tomorrow, so we should learn what need to know in order to go even farther.
It sounds silly to spend a lot of money 9 to the moon. However, a hundred years ago few people believed that humans would 10 the moon. If we continue studying the stars, we will achieve much more in another hundred years.

Emily and Anne did know, of course. They had known about Charlotte’s book for a long time. Jane Eyre was not the first book that Charlotte had sent to a publisher. Over a year ago she had written another book, The Professor, and sent it to one publisher after another. Each publisher had sent it back, in a packet addressed to Currer Bell. And then Charlotte had sent it, in the same old packet, to another publisher, and then another, and got it back again.
“Why didn’t you change the paper on the packet, my dear?” I asked.
Charlotte smiled. “I didn’t think of it, papa. The worst day was when we were Manchester, going to the eye doctor. Do you remember? The packet came back then. That was the day before I started writing Jane Eyre.”21cnjy.com
“Do you mean that you started writing Jane Eyre while I was lying in the dark room in Manchester?”
“That’s right, papa.”
“But that’s only six months ago, and here is the book in my hand!”
“Yes, papa. The book was printed a month later after I sent it to the publisher.”
“My dear! They decided very quickly that they liked it, then!”
“I think they did, papa. After all, it is a good book, isn’t it?”
She smiled at me. I don’t think I have ever seen her so happy. She is a very small person. Charlotte, and not a beautiful woman, but when she smiles like that, her face shines like a fine painting. My wife used to look like that sometimes when I first met her.
I took her hand in mine. “It is a very good book, my dear. I cannot tell you how proud I am.”
She touched my hand. “Thank you, papa. But you must not be proud of me alone. You know, another two of your daughters—Anne and Emily…”
“Oh, no, Charlotte, please!” Emily said.
But Charlotte did not stop. “Anne and Emily have written good books too, and their books will soon be published as well! Let me introduce them to you, papa. These young ladies—Anne and Emily, are “not” your daughters—they are separately Acton Bell and Ellis Bell, brothers of the famous writer Currer Bell!”
Emily’s face was bright red, but Anne and Charlotte started laughing. I was very surprised.
“All three of you!” I said. “But—but why do you use these strange names?”
“Because people are stupid, papa.” Anne said. “No one thinks women can write good books, so we have used men’s names. And now they say that Currer Bell is a writer who understands women very well!” She laughed again.【出处:21教育名师】

Ever feel like no one really understands you well? "Pepper" could be about to change all that. Pepper is the first robot to read human feelings. Using its emotion recognition functions (情感识别功能), Pepper can react to people when it is near them―making jokes, dancing and even singing in Japanese.
The man-like robot looks like a small girl. It is four-feet tall with a tablet computer (平板电脑)set to its chest. It has human-like hands, a girl-like body and baby-like voice. It was shown to curious people in Tokyo stores on Friday by Softbank, a Japanese robotics company.
Pepper can examine facial expressions(面部表情), human voice and signs, then make an answer. Pepper is designed to be a family robot, but it isn't like Rosie who can do housework on the cartoon. Pepper is used at the home or the store, where we provide fun and entertainment.
Pepper gets power from love inside a family. Not only is he making jokes, making them laugh, it can also help people when they are in trouble. In a natural accident, it can help make those people who are sad or lonely feel relaxed, encourage them or make them laugh.
Pepper goes on sale in Japan for around $2,000 in February 2018. For now, several Peppers are at Softbank stores in Tokyo for people to visit. The creators say before selling Peppers, they want the robots to store more knowledge, to do better in getting along with human.
1. What kind of robot is Pepper?

2. How can Pepper help humans in a natural accident?www.21-cn-jy.com

七、Dear Luke,
I′m glad to tell you something about robots.
Last Friday the International Robot Exhibition was held in Shanghai. There were all kinds of robots from different countries on show. Among all the robots, I like the one made in Japan best. It can help with the housework. It can do the washing, shopping, cooking and other housework. In the future I would like to design a robot specially for the old people. It can remind the old people to take medicine. Sometimes it can call 120 when necessary. There are advantages of robots and trouble as well. But our life is sure to be better with the development of technology.21世纪教育网版权所有
