A Using adjectives
Teaching aims:
1. 能使用形容词来描述人或物。
2. 能掌握形容词做定语和表语时的位置。
3. 能掌握不定代词的用法。

Step 1 呈现
对学生说:We know Millie keeps Eddie as her pet dog. What colour is her dog? 学生说:He is yellow. 教师继续描述:Yes, he is yellow. Eddie is yellow. He is a yellow dog. 教师说:Is he clever? 学生说:Yes, he is clever.
继续问学生:What other adjectives can we use to describe pets? 引出lovely, lazy, beautiful等词。
让学生用这些词造句,形容自己的宠物要求同一意思用两种方式表达。如:
(1) My rabbit is lovely. / It is a lovely rabbit.
(2) My mouse is lazy. / It is a lazy mouse.
(3) My parrot is beautiful. / It is a beautiful parrot.
4. 将例句写在黑板上,问学生:Where do we put an adjective? 鼓励学生仔细观察例句,说出答案:We put an adjective before a noun or after a linking verb.
Step 2 操练

Step 2 操练
1. 教师将其余的不定代词:Something, anything, nothing, everything 写在黑板上,告诉学生:Today we’ll learn two kinds of indefinite pronouns. One kind is used to refer to people, such as someone, anyone and no one. The other kind is used to refer to things, such as something, anything and nothing.
2. 进一步向学生解释:somebody, someone, something用在肯定句中,anybody, anyone, anything常用在否定句和疑问句中。提醒学生当somebody,someone,something用在疑问句中,通常表示提供某物或期望得到肯定回答。

My electronic pet
我的电子宠物
I love animals and I always want to keep a cat as my pet. But I’m busy every day, so I don’t have much time to look after a pet. When I found I could keep an electronic pet cat in my electronic dictionary, I was so glad!
At first, the pet cat was very small. It didn’t eat fish, but it drank milk and water. I tried my best to make money to buy milk for it. How can I make money in the electronic dictionary? I play games in it and if I win I can get some “money”. After a few days, the cat grew bigger. I bought fish for it, washed it, played ball games with it and took it to hospital when it was ill. It grew happily and healthily. I knew it was happy because when I turned on the electronic dictionary I could see its smiling face.
Now it is a very big, or maybe I should say fat, cat. It isn’t greedy. When it is full, it won’t eat any fish. But it is lazy now. When I want to take it to play games, it refuses(拒绝). Maybe I shouldn’t ask it to play games after a meal. It is not good for its health.
Bring home a new cat

If you already have a cat as a pet and you want to bring a new cat home, you must make a plan carefully. Cats are very independent(独立的) animals, and maybe your cat will not get along well with the new one.
You can do these things to be away from trouble.
1. You must make sure that the new cat is healthy, but this is not enough. You must also make sure that your own pet is clean. If even one cat is not very healthy, you are likely to pay the vets(兽医) a lot.
2. Don’t bring the new cat into the house yourself. This will make your own cat feel unsafe. Ask a friend to bring in the cat for you, or put your own cat in a separate(单独的) room when you bring the new one into your house.
3. Both the cats are now in the house. Is it time for them to finally meet? Not yet! You should put the new cat in a separate room for two days. Your curious(好奇的) cat will try to find the secret of that room. After a few days, open the door just a bit. Watch what happens next. If all seems good, you can get them live together.
I once kept a rabbit
我曾经养过的兔子
I once kept a rabbit. It was small, white and soft. I loved it very much.
I fed it a lot grass every day, but it didn’t like drinking water. My mother said there was much water in the vegetables and grass. It was not necessary for it to drink water.
I kept it in a hutch in the small garden around our house. Every morning, before I went to school, I put much grass in the hutch. It really atequickly ! There was little grass left when I came back from school at noon. For lunch, I usually fed it some cabbages and carrots. I cleaned its hutch if I had time.
Rabbits are not quiet animals. I don’t mean they can bark or “miaow”. It can’t make any noise, but they like moving! When my rabbit was awake, it ate or jumped or walked all the time. It just didn’t stop .
I was very sad when my rabbit died. I buried(埋葬) it in the garden. I thought it might be lonely if it was buried far from us.
