一、教材内容及分析
教学内容
本课是人教版《新目标》英语八年级上Unit10 If you go to the party, you
will have a great time! 的第一课时。以Decision making为话题,从学生熟悉的party出发到生活中的一系列情况,鼓励学生做出自己的决定,并对这一决定所带来的结果进行讨论。通过“Talk about consequences”来学习if引导的条件状语从句,同时复习be going to表示将来时态的用法。
2、教材的地位和作用 本课时是一般将来时态的延续,为正确运用这个时态提供场景,也为条件状语复合句的学习奠定基础,具有承前启后的作用;就整个单元来说它既是本单元的基本语言内容,又为本单元的知识扩展和语言综合运用奠定基础。
二、设计思路
课前已熟读本课单词。首先以一段视频“if you are happy”做热身活动,活跃课堂气氛,继而让学生谈论“if you are happy,what will you do?”, 让学生第一次接触if的用法。然后以一小段视频将话导到party上来,从而引出本节内容。用”If you go to the party, what will you wear/bring/eat/do?”句型来谈论学生熟悉的party,接下来是几个循序渐进的练习活动,学生独立,结对或组成小组完成多种练习。使学生在完成任务的同时学习语言,并培养学生树立正确的人生观。在本课中,涉及到了三个话题:话题一:参加聚会时应该做哪些准备工作。话题二:在学生面对生活中的一系列情况,应该怎么做。话题三:句子接龙,继续巩固if条件状语从句的用法。本课在设计时非常注重知识目标与能力目标的达成,注重学生情感态度与价值观的培养,充分体现智育渗透德育以及学科整合的概念。
学情分析
本班学生已经学过一般将来时态,有一定的英语语言基础,也曾接触过if引导的条件状语从句。但是未对此知识点进行概括和总结。也缺乏系统的练习。因此,系统地有难度梯度地呈现if 条件状语从句是非常必须的。在新知识的呈现之后,还要帮助学生进行课堂练习以检测学生的掌握情况如何。所以我在设计时多从学生的角度考虑。根据“Talk about consequences”这一语言目标,鼓励学生展开想象,对某一条件下产生的结果进行大胆的判断。
另外,他们有一定的独立意识,易受潮流的影响。因此要适时进行德育渗透,正确引导,使之树立正确的价值观,人生观。

(3) To learn and master conditional adverbial clause and be able to talk about consequences with “if + will”.
Process and Method
To teach the words, phrases and sentence structure with Situational Teaching Method and Sentence Pattern Teaching Method. Let students learn to use them in practice.
To practice the target language with pair work and group work.
To help train students’ listening abilities of grasping the key information through listening.
Emotion, value and attitude
To develop students’ abilities of communication and cooperation.
To build up the correct values and views on life.
Teaching Key Points:
To learn and master the structure and usage of conditional adverbial clause.

To be able to talk about consequences with conditional adverbial clause and use it in real situation.

Teaching Procedure:
Step1. Warming up and leading-in
1. Play a video and ask: If you are happy, what will you do?
(Show some pictures as referring.)
S1: If I am happy, I will watch cartoon.

2. Play a video and ask: What are you doing?

(设计意图:课前热身活动是上好一节课的关键之一,通过观看视频来调动他们的视觉,听觉来参与语言活动。这样能够更好地将学生带进课题,为他们主动参与整个学习过程做准备。)

Step3. Listening and practice

T: OK, you did a very good job, next let’s see what our classmates are thinking about.
2. Listen and complete the responses in 1a.

4. Pay attention to the the words in pink. In the second sentence, “do” takes the place of “wearing jeans to the party/staying at home/taking the bus to the party/going to the party with Karen and Anna”. Are you clear?
( Here, write the sentences on the blackboard: I think I’ll wear jeans to the party. If you do, the teacher won’t let you in.)

(设计意图:通过小组对话,让学生运用目标语句型,在用中巩固,非单调地反复,而是结合生活实际有意义的使用,让学生巩固目标语的同时更加明白英语与生活密不可分。)
Step5. Practice and group work
Task one: If he comes ,what will you do?

(Guide students to think of different answers.The more, the better. Call one student to write the sentence on the blackboard.)
Task two: Chain Story
Use the ending of last sentence as the beginning of next sentence. For example:
If he gets up late, he will be late for school.
If he is late for school, the teacher will be angry.
If the teacher is angry, ......
T: You can choose any of the two to discuss, work in groups to make a chain story.
