Step 1. Warm-up
Enjoy the song My Happy School.
Free talk: (1) Are there any clubs in our school? What are they?21·世纪*教育网

Explain the meaning of student council.(with the picture)
Step 2. Presentation
Explain what the student council is.
Teacher show the picture and students discuss in groups.
Teacher explain it.

Explain the new words.
Read the lesson and write true (T) or false (F).
Check the answers.
Explain the language points:
provide sb. with sth.=provide sth. for sb. “给某人提供某物”,二者可互换,但介词不可混淆。
Our school provides children with books. = Our school provides books for children.
我们的学校给孩子们提供书籍。
provide for sb.“养活/ 赡养某人”

reach an agreement 达成一致
The two sides failed to reach an agreement.
双方未能取得一致意见。
take…as… 把……作为……
She take the bird as a butterfly.

连词and, but, or and so
and, but, or 和so 可以连接两个词语或句子。

but 表示“但是,而,可是”,所连接的词语或句子之间是转折关系。
The room is small but clean.
I went to see my uncle but he was not at home.
or 表示“或者”,连接的词语或句子之间是选择关系。但是,在否定句中or则表示并列关系。
Will you go shopping this afternoon or after dinner?
You can ask your teacher or parents.
You cannot help him or ask others to help him.
so 表示“所以”,连接的词语或句子之间是因果关系。

Daniel is busy doing his homework, so he can’t go out to play football with me.
so 和because不能同时在一个句子中使用。如:
错误的表达:
Because he was ill, so he couldn’t go to school.
正确的表达:
Because he was ill, he couldn’t go to school.
或者He was ill, so he couldn’t go to school.
share作及物动词,意为“合用;分享”,后可接名词(短语)或代词作宾语。“与某人分享某物”可以用短语share sth. with sb. 来表达。
I often shares my toys with my friends.

work toward(s) 意为“努力达到;设法获得”。
