4. speak v. 说,演讲
【点拨】speak作及物动词时,常以某种语言作宾语。如:speak Chinese说中文,speak English说英语。
【辨析】say, speak, tell和talk
(1)say一般作及物动词用,着重于说话的内容,它的宾语可以是名词,代词或宾语从句。如:
①He can say his name.
他会说他的名字。
②Please say it in English.
请用英语说。 ③She’s saying, “Don’t draw on the wall.”
她在说:“别在墙上画画。”
(2)speak强调说的动作,不强调所说的内容。常见的搭配形式有:speak+语言;speak of something/somebody谈到某事(某人);speak to sb.跟某人讲话。此外speak还可用于在较为正式的场合演讲或演说。如:
①Can you speak Japanese?

②She is speaking to her teacher.
她正在跟她的老师说话。③He speaks at the meeting.

(3)talk一般为不及物动词,意思是“交谈,谈话”。常见搭配:talk to/with sb.和……交谈;talk about谈论关于……。如:

③The teacher is talking to him.
老师正在和他谈话。
(4)tell常作及物动词,意为“讲述,告诉”,动词常跟双宾语。tell sb. sth.=tell sth. to sb. 告诉某人某事,tell sb. about sth.告诉某人关于某事,tell story讲故事。如:①He is telling the children a story.

②Do you tell her the news?=Do you tell the news to her? 你把这个消息告诉她了吗?
5. worry v. 焦虑;担心
【点拨】worry作不及物动词,意为“担心”。如:
Don’t worry.
不要担心。
常用短语:worry about...担心……。如:
Don’t worry about me. I can look after myself.
不要担心我,我能照顾自己。
【拓展】worry的形容词形式为:worried担心的,焦虑的。常用搭配:be worried about担心……。如:

【点拨】teach的名词形式为teacher。现在分词形式为:teaching。第三人称一般现在式为:teaches。常用短语:teach sb. sth. 教某人某事;teach sb. to do sth.教某人做某事。如:

(2)would like to do sth.意为“想要做某事”,与want意义相同,但语气更委婉。would like可与任何人称连用,没有人称和数的变化,肯定句中would常在主语后面缩写为’d。 其肯定句式和否定句式如下:
肯定句:主语+would like+to do sth. ……想要做某事。如:
He would like to go to see a film.
他想去看电影。
否定句:主语+would not like+to do sth. ……不想做某事。如:
We would not like to go swimming in winter.
冬天我们不愿意去游泳。(3)play the piano意为“弹钢琴”,play后的名词若是西洋乐器,前面常加定冠词the,若是球类名词则不用定冠词the。如:
play football 踢足球
【延伸】play是一个多义词,除“弹奏”外,它还有“踢、打(球);下(棋);打(牌)”等意思。如:
①My sister can play the piano.
我姐姐会弹钢琴。
②Tom is playing basketball with his friends.
汤姆在和朋友们打篮球。2. I like cooking, so I can join the Food and Drink Club. 我喜欢做饭,所以我能加入食品和饮料俱乐部。
【点拨】(1)这个句子中含有一个so引导的结果状语从句。
(2)the Food and Drink Club是表名称的专有名词,所以实词Food, Drink, Club第一个字母均大写。
【注意】but不能与though/although连用。
(3)so是连词,意为“所以;结果是”,引导结果状语从句。如:

【点拨】What about...?意为“……好不好/如何/怎么样”,它后面可接名词、代词或动词-ing形式。具体用法如下:
(1)可以用What about...?来提出建议,about后可接名词或动词-ing形式。如:

②What about taking little Tom along with us?

情态动词表示说话人的语气、情感或态度,没有人称和数的变化,在句子中不能单独作谓语,只能和紧挨着的动词原形一起构成复合谓语。
(1)can的基本用法
①表示能力(如体力和脑力方面),意为“能;会”。如:A. Can you speak English? 你会讲英语吗?
B. Can you play the piano? 你会弹钢琴吗?
②表示请求或允许,多用在口语中,意为“可以;能”。用于疑问句中来提出要求,用于否定句表示不允许。如:

B. You can’t take the book out of the room.

would like意为“愿意;想要”,与want意义相近,而语气较want要委婉。其用法如下:
