Step 1. Leading in
Use the cartoon on page1 and some famous people to lead in the topic of this lesson.
Step 2. Vocabulary
1. New words learning.
2. Lead Ss to sum up the adjective words about describing people (Let students think of some adjective words about describing people and write them. Divide 3 groups to write, and let us see which group can write them best.)
3. Finish A1 to test students’ learning result of new words
4. Do a pair work like this: (Finish A2) S1: What do you think of your friend S2: He is very smart. S1: Why do you think that S2: Because he can always answer the teacher’s questions correctly.
Step 3. Reading
Before-reading:
Ask Ss to look at the pictures and the titles on page 3. Then circle the correct answers to complete the sentences below.(finish exercise B on page 2 )
2. While-reading:
1). Get ss to read the three articles on page 3 .Then complete the charts on the screen.
2).Explain some language points and write them on the blackboard
3) Finish C1
4) Reading practice
5). Test students’ learning result of the understanding of the articles. Exercise: Find the right phrases for the right person.(show on the screen) 3.Post- reading
1. Ask Ss to try to retell the articles.
2. Ask students to describe their family members to their partners. Use the words and phrases that we have learnt. Then ask some students to show up. 3. Play a game.( Ask one student of every group to describe one classmate \a teacher\an idol and other students of the other groups to guess who he\she is.) (从外貌、性格、职业、能力等来描述)
Step4 Summary.
1. First have Ss summarize what they have learnt in this class. Then the teacher give them additions.
