Analyses of the text material
It’s the second period of Unit 6 and the main subject is to deal with reading comprehension of the text. The major idea of the text material is the process of electricity coming into people’s flats. There are some new words which are hard for the students to pronounce correctly in this unit, such as electricity, conversation, identify and so on, but the contents of the text is not so hard to understand. Guided properly, the students can finish all the questions neatly.
Analyses of the students
Two thirds of the students used to be very poor in English study. Not only did they know little about English, but also they had no interest in it at all. After the first term, most of them have become more and more interested in this subject and they are eager to take part in activities during the class. However, because of their poor basic knowledge of English, it is not easy for them to follow the teacher and get effective achievements. They have the enthusiasm but they are lack of abilities, so they need more encouragement and support. For this class, they have learned the new words in the first period. Maybe most of them can’t pronounce the new words without any mistakes, but it is possible that the new words are not barriers for them to deal with reading comprehension.
Courses

And the student should spell the word and translate it into Chinese. Each of them can try five times and the ones who get the highest and the second highest marks can be the winners.
Step3 Warming up and leading-in 5’
A little quiz to check how much the students know about electricity. All the students stand up and decide true or false with gestures. Those who are wrong have to sit down while the winners are the ones who stand to the end.

Blackboard design
